Depends on how many they eat. You know, like they have to moderate it or something.

right. and you know people aren't fat because of too much fruit. so join reality.

sodium nitrite

Vegetables with high levels of sodium nitrate include spinach, radishes, lettuce, celery, carrots, cabbage, and beets. According to a 2009 study, approximately 80 percent of dietary nitrates in a person’s diet are obtained from vegetable consumption.

Is Sodium Nitrate Bad for You?

vegetables are not processed meats, lets not pretend deli products are as healthy as vegetables

at least admit it

Fruit juice can definitely cause people to gain weight, and it has added negative health effects because of the amazing amount of sugar in it.

If sodium nitrate is bad for you then we should stop eating vegetables. Of course we shouldn't do that, a balanced diet is the answer.

who said anything about fruit juice? I just said APPLES AND ORANGES

"look at that fatty who guzzles cranberry juice" yeah right.

a balanced diet doesn't mean eating hot dogs, and unhealthy food.

Eating too much of anything is bad for you. Too much carbs in grains and sugar in fruit and you get fat/diabetic. Too much spinach could impair your ability to absorb calcium, too much carotenoids and your skin turns orange (happened to my son).

Greetings, PoS. :2wave:

:agree: There are a few vitamins and minerals that you can only get naturally from meat! Besides, meat tastes good to humans so that's reason enough for me to enjoy a good steak on occasion, and since most veggies and fruits do not contain fat, which our bodies also need in small amounts to stay healthy, I don't intend to stop eating meat!

I agree vegetables are healthier than meats in that they provide a multitude of vitamins that meat cannot. I do not believe that there is something inherently bad about meat though. I worry more about sugar or carbs because they have no real benefit and tend to lead to weight gain.

Exactly, polgara! Meat provides vitamin B12, which cannot be found in vegan diets, so a balanced diet in moderate portions is the best thing anybody can do for their health.

A hot dog now and again will do no harm. Are you going to eat less vegetables know that you know about the high levels of sodium nitrate?

yeah look at all those people who got fat eating oranges and apples.

LOL

You should be laughing at yourself. Eating lots of sugar raises insulin levels, which deposits energy from food into fat cells. Or in other words, eating lots of sugar will make you fat.

Well said.

that doesn't make it good for you or make it part of a balanced diet.

I'm laughing at you. I don't eat sugar, I eat fresh fruit. you'd have to have a dent in your head to think people are fat from eating fresh fruit.

Fruit sugars are sugars. Duh.

most people don't just eat meat "on occasion". they eat a lot of it every day and even every meal. thanks for agreeing.

Fruit sugars are sugars. Duh.

The good kind.

Natural.

:screwy

*sarcasm*

Note: I added the sarcasm warning after MV liked this post. I find it hilarious that high sugar fruit is supposed to be great for us but adding sugar to lemon juice to make lemonade will kill us because we added the sugar after the fruit came off the tree rather than let mother nature do it. The food minders are clearly insane.
