Any foodies out there?
The missus and I are planning on going to the Far Est to sample local cuisine.

The question I ask is where did you go to sample the local cuisine and what was your favorite dish?

Depends on where you go.

Vietnam has got lots of stuff that has all sorts of variations. I love pho and their BBQ, but Ive barely explored more of their cuisine.

Hong Kong has got Peking Duck and dim sum as my favs there. Nearby Macao has got pork buns (literally a porkchop sandwich) and egg tarts.

Thailand is excellent- their spicy dishes like tom yam soup are wonderful. Ive always eaten street food there and never got sick, the peppers pretty much kills any food borne bacteria.

Philippines is not so great, I only like their BBQ and whole roasted pig.

Singapore is like a fusion, you get great Malaysian food and Indian food depending on where you look. Their hawker centers are great.

I'm currently eating a lot of Korean food- the red pepper paste they put in practically everything is out of this world. I like their version of buffalo wings, dak galbi (chicken stir fry) and Samgeopsal (do it yourself grilled beef and pork strips with lettuce wrap). Not to mention their appetizers are like Arabic mezze like kim chee, string bean salad and all that.
