It gives me a warm feeling knowing McDonalds had been selling McNuggets formerly made from Dow Chemical spill off but now has seen the light that our health is their number one concern.

Do you "FIX" the Mona Lisa?

Do you "FIX" McNuggets?

"Better days are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time,GOP.

Chicken McNuggets = if its bad for you then it must be good!

(When it came to McD's I was more partial to big macs and McRibs myself)

I loved McD's as a kid. Can't stand it now (and I did give it another shot one time I was driving a long ways but didn't want to sit down for a waited meal. Had the chicken nuggets in fact. Tasted like fat and salt, with slightly crispy fat on the outside. Ugh).

i still like them. i sometimes get a six piece with honey for the dipping sauce and a Daily Double as a slip meal. generally, i go with veggie chicken nuggets from Morning Star Farms, though. i really dig those, and they are less calories and better for you. i eat pretty healthy most of the time and exercise a lot, but i do relish a slip meal.

I'm still a big fan of Morningstar Farms products. Almost always have something from them on hand. All of their faux chicken flavors are good IMHO. I really like the Buffalo Chicken patties. Corn dogs are also a big fave. I've cut back on the bacon though, because I'm supposed to watch my sodium intake. :(

it's probably just a matter of time for me, too. i eat way too much salt. i have been at a healthy weight for years now (i was obese in my late 20s and lost a lot of weight in my 30s) and i exercise quite a bit, but that only does so much. i should probably start easing the salt intake back now so it's not such a shock when i have to do it.

It's been one of the most difficult things for me to do. Well, that and beer. :D But, it does get easier after a while. It's fargen difficult as heck to find many reduced sodium products, and I can't stand the no sodium stuff. When you start reading labels, it's hard to believe how much salt is in food products.

It's easy to understand why salt was once very valuable in some ancient cultures. Food tastes like crap without it.

yeah, i have very little trouble eating low fat / reduced calorie / meat substitutes a lot of the time. as for salt, though, that's hard. only thing i can think to do is to wean off of it, and i haven't even started yet. maybe this will remind me to at least think about making a plan to do that after the fair food later this weekend. i log all of my meals in an online food diary to help me maintain a healthy weight, and salt is the only category in which i consistently exceed the recommended totals. anyway, good luck with reducing your salt intake, and if you figure out any tricks / hacks, let me know.

I sure will bro. And good on you for losing all that weight. To look at you, you'd think you were thin all your life. With me, I was thin all my life. Just in the last decade or so my metabolism has slowed considerably. I'm not fat or anything, but I got a bit of a gut goin' on.

thanks! i was in the 260s in the early 2000s before i said **** this and lost a bunch of weight. that was more than ten years ago, and it's still a daily / seasonal struggle. quitting smoking was easier; that only requires putting out one cigarette and not lighting another. however, my guess is that my metabolism will slow down some in the next ten years. i'm trying to counteract that with exercise. if i have to cut back more on calories, i'll do my best.

That's my problem, I love to eat. And eat, and eat, and eat. Food is one of life's greatest pleasures.

the upside is that this beats the alternative. having no appetite is probably worse. however, i know what you mean.

people here say it's OK to die early instead of eating badly.

Absolutely true.

But I'm on a road trip and found myself getting Chicken McNuggets today- I probably haven't eaten them in a decade.

They prove that you can both eat badly AND die early.

You notice no one makes veggie-flavored meat.

Any part of the chicken you can call a nugget I don't think we should be eating.
