dinner tonight was a very small grilled chicken breast, a tiny baked potato, cabbage rounds roasted in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic and fennel seed, with a glass of fermented, crushed grapes

superb

greasy fast food sucks

except for a treat once a week

Sounds great. I love the taste of fennel. Has its own health benefits too, if for nothing else but cutting down on salt. Fresh fennel, grilled with olive oil, yum. I love grilled veg of any kind.
Grilled okra (the tender young okra is best)...brush it with a paste of olive oil and grill mix seasoning of choice, voila. Tastes good with or without protein of choice.

Indeed. Try grilling fruit. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Got watermelon that is just so so? Peaches? Even tomatoes. Try it, I dare you.
For ease of handling, use a basket or pierce with well soaked skewers. I forgot to mention that about the okra. Also, eat those as quickly and as hot as possible.
