Roadfood - website for "Authentic Regional Eats"

Are you old enough to use this forum? That's not a very mature response.

Please keep your nitpicking, nagging, and harassment out of my thread, thanks. If you want to talk about unhealthy eating habits start another one of your own threads on the topics.

Which states are you going through if you don't mind my asking? I used to drive truck OTR, I may be able to recommend some stops for you, especially in CA depending upon your route.

Ar, Ok, Co, Wy, Ne, Ca, Az, Nm, Tx

A week in California - everywhere else are one-night stops.

Wyoming there's two places I recommend, in the small town of Wamsutter on I-80 there's a mexican restuarant by the Connocco station (you'll see it, this is a tiny town)

the other is the quick service deli at Little America in western Wyo off of I-80.

where abouts in CA? like what highway corridors?

Thank you! Sounds great.

In CA we'll be on I-5 / I-15 / I-80 and I-1 . . . all over. Family's really spread out.

There's tons of great restaurants out here in CA, but you probably know that. Tons of fresh seafood, great Mexican food, Italian, Asian. Even good cheap chain places like In n Out and the Habit Burger.

PS, don't mind Militant, his Alfalfa diet is making him cranky.

I'm looking forward to tasty foods up and down the coast. Yep.

I'm also looking forward to eating tons of awesome fresh fruit and veggies from the coast - I'm actually going to load up (it's so much cheaper there, people have no idea - and taste 10x's better. So much so thta after our last trip, coming home to eat the same produce was like eating dirt) and come home / spend time preserving a lot of it.

That's really interesting, I hadn't thought about that. I take it you're from the east coast?
Fresh cherries are in season here right now, they're so daym good.
Ooh your going to make home made jam? Apricot jam on homemade biscuits with butter....i need a moment.

i love local restaurants and diners. i'm lucky to have grown up in a rural town, and it has some really good places to eat that most have never heard of.

i dig the roadfood site. i'll use it as a resource the next time i travel.
