the breakfast thread

A cup of coffee :coffee:
A healthy slice of my husband's homemade cinnamon raisin bread toasted, lightly buttered with a good sprinkling of cinnamon sugar atop. Another cup of coffee. :coffee:

Life is good. 🤠

pumpkin streusel with cream cheese.

made breakfast for everyone. it was nice to have some time.

cheesy egg scramble
more of the pumpkin streusel with butter or syrup, depending on preference
bacon
turkey and cheese sausage for my elderly dog.

English fry-up every day...but sometimes simple versions ( like bacon , egg and beans/tomatoes, or scrambled eggs on toast) ...I never eat cereals. Had a cooked breakfast every day for 40 years.

You can see how healthy this breakfast is by the grease I left on the side lol...

Roast beef hash, fried egg sandwich on wheat toast, coffee, and key lime yogurt.

I lived in Glasgow for a while, and one thing I noticed is that no matter what breakfast I ordered, it always came with tomatoes. (y)

9 times out of 10 it’s tomatoes or baked beans in tomato sauce, or both. I also quite often put marmite on the toast I have with it...oh and black pudding!

A really lovely sandwich ( to me lol) is an egg banjo...heavily buttered bread, a skim of marmite ( I put it on thick but you have to get used to it), a fried egg ( not overdone, it’s got to burst), a sprinkle of cress ( to make this super healthy lol) and a big dollop of tomato ketchup..you’ll either fall in love or vomit...

I won my wife over with this 31 years ago lol...great after drinking too much..😂

I never got over the extreme yeast flavor of marmite; not as salty as vegemite, but still a flavor you have to get used to....I like the peppery taste of cress on a roast beef sandwich.

what are you having for breakfast?

mine :

15 grain toast with all sorts of cool seeds on it
yogurt margarine
Love 15 grain toast.
You can keep the yogurt.

You have to go very light with marmite initially...the taste will grow on you...it’s also packed with b vitamins. The sweetness of ketchup counterbalances the marmite.

we also use an imitation marmite ( supermarket own brand) that is far less salty and tastes better for it imo.

my wife and i had some pretty good breakfasts in London and Norfolk a few years ago. it was a great honeymoon, as well as my first trip overseas.

I love visiting London, it’s probably one of the world’s greatest cities, so much history and things to do...great food too ...wouldn’t want to live there though. If you find a Whetherspoon pub they are really cheap too ...some beers are around £2 a pint even in London...assuming they ever reopen...

The west country, north Wales and the Lake District are all beautiful and many US visitors don’t get to see them...people end up thinking London represents the U.K. and that’s only true to a point.

we listen to a lot of audiobooks based in the U.K. together. our honeymoon was based on two of the series that we were listening to at the time, with some other stops along the way. we hope to visit again, as it was a great time.

made hot dog gravy. basically, you chop up hot dogs and pan fry them. then you fill the pan with milk and a tablespoon of flour. heat and stir continuously until it thickens. add a pinch of salt or so, and some shakes of pepper. it's served over bread or toast.

i always thought that this was a family invention, but i found something called weiner gravy on the internet that looks pretty similar.

1 medium honey crisp apple, mature cheddar cheese, almonds.

sausage, egg, and cheese hot pocket
two pancakes with sugar free syrup.

Canned sausage gravy on toast. It is better served on biscuits but I am much better at just making toast. ;)

How is that stuff? We got kitchen stuff for our christmas and one of the things we bought was a stand mixer so biscuits are on my list. I've tried dinner rolls and pizza dough so far. I was not impressed with my first attempts. I had some of that reheated pizza for breakfast.

More like a canadian breakfast, I only see 3 firearms, 2 lobster tails and one jesus head, oh yeah and not enough bacon!

What about the dragonfruit crème filled cupcake? Rambo has a boyfriend.
