:2grouphugOne place I want to visit before I die, Turkey.
Turkish coffee , Turkish food , Turkish people
Olives, feta (plus other cheeses), tomato slices, raisins, naan (it's awesome), hard boiled eggs, etc.
what is this ?
Belgium Chocolate Crepes and fresh fruit.
Although it's way too caloric for me to eat with any regularity, I loved the full Irish breakfasts when I visited that country. (Especially if it was a quality buffet).
"Black pudding", "White pudding", the grilled tomatoes, grilled or sauteed mushrooms, sausages, bacon, eggs; and a side-bowl of yogurt topped with a bunch of fruit.
I'd say its the thought that counts but sometimes you have to wonder what are they thinking, right?
yeah, those look like hotdogs, not sausages. very disturbing.
It was just that I had a breakfast recently in Greece that looked just like the one in the picture.
doing you a favor

Who eats hot dogs for breakfast?
Who eats hot dogs for breakfast?
It's funny you ask that because just this weekend my daughter asked "who doesn't eat hot dogs for breakfast?" One of her favorites things is weenies con huevos which is hot dogs cooked with eggs and we were talking about it and she was very surprised to learn that many Americans who love hot dogs don't eat them for breakfast. It's just not very popular I guess.

I live in the third world and where I am the locals seem to love hotdogs with egg and rice for breakfast. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I dont usually eat breakfast myself but on occasion my preferred is a full American breakfast of bacon, eggs and potatoes.
I think they do that in the Philippines, and a few other places where America had bases post-WWII.
Yes. When I was in Hawaii they seem to like spam, eggs and fried rice for breakfast so it seems awfully similar.
Yeah, I've never been, but that was the first thing that I thought of when you mentioned hot dogs, eggs, and rice. Okinowa, Japan almost certainly has similar dishes (one of their favorite dishes is tako rice, which is a Japanese transliteration of "taco", made with old school MRI rations with taco seasoning and canned salsa). It's amusing what goes around the world. I've even heard of some places in the Pacific that have spam sushi, I think it's Hawaii.
But yes, bacon, eggs, and potatoes are nice (so are the other American regional classics, eggs benedict in the West, sausage gravy and biscuits in the South, also shrimp and grits in the South, etc). Still, it's nice to mix it up a bit every now and again.
The most popular dish in Hawaii when I was there was the loco moco, its basically a burger patty on a bed of rice topped with gravy and a fried egg- Ive seen people eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I went to the Philippines I saw an identical dish so I think you may be correct in that the Pacific War might have heavily influenced cuisine in the area.
I actually don't like hot dogs. I think it's because I ate way, way too many of them while I was in college because they were cheap. That and Kraft mac 'n cheese. Ugh, the **** you put up with when you're a young-twenty-something and with little disposable income. Never again.
I do, however, like smoked sausage, and I really like fried smoked sausage coins with eggs. I rarely make it because it's hard to find a really decent smoked sausage when you're not in the South (and I don't live there).
