Like mashed potatoes? Hate peeling potatoes?

Use one of these!!

Just cut your unpeeled potatoes in half and boil them until they're nice and soft. Then put them cut side down into the ricer, one by one, and squeeze. The flesh comes out smoothly mashed (no lumps!!) and the skin is left behind. Just clean out and discard the skin and put another half in and continue.

Do you like smooth vegetable soups? Use one of these!

It's an immersion blender. Just boil your veggies in water until soft. Then, instead of having to transfer everything into your blender, you just put the immersion blender into the pot and turn it on and it will turn into soup right in the pot.

I use a potato ricer all the time. Never realized I didn't have to peel the potatoes. Great tip!

Want smoked ribs, but dont have hours to smoke them?

Some the ribs on the grill with relatively heavy smoke for as long as possible. This will give the smoked taste. Meanwhile, turn the oven on to 350. Move the ribs into the oven on a baking pan. Put a layer of water (use salt water if you like a slight sallty taste) on the baking pan as well. The evaporating water keeps the ribs moist while they cook.

35-45 minutes later, the "smoked" ribs are done, just when you told everybody they would be. If time is still running short, but the oven on broil- but watch them closely.
