Now, aside from fruit smoothies and hummus, does anyone have any suggestions? :2razz:

New blender diet fad?

Strawberry Margaritas, Daquiris, Hurricanes etc... The world is your oyster, go out buy some booze and experiment. Please post your findings immediately after these experiments, it should be amusing. ;)

Egg white omelets, pancakes. Depending on attachments, cake batter. Cold soups.
Chimichurri. Salsa.

No.

I have been diagnosed with TMJ so I have to follow a soft food diet for the next two weeks. Even my son is making fun of me- he's saying I have to eat the food he ate when he was a baby.

Tomatoes; vanilla ice cream with some milk; mushy peas from frozen peas

BTW it looks just like one my mother got for her wedding

TMJ? Never heard of it, hope its not serious but because of the thread it sin my mind instantly thought "Too Much Juice" which is kinda weird for soemoen who just bought a blender.
FYI I had a roomate who dislocated his jaw and had to eat everything out of a straw. We just made normal meals and put his in a blender with some milk. Not sure why but regardless of what we ate it always came out looking kinda grey.

The true test of the strength of a blender....try making poi in it.

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction- my right ear starts to get painful when I chew on the right side of my jaw. It only gets painful when I eat, the rest of the time it doesnt bother me but the doctor told me to eat soft foods for a few weeks at least. :(

That gooey taro stuff from Hawaii? Eeew.

Oh yeah, salsa! But damn I wont be able to eat it with tostada chips since they are crunchy. :(

But thanks for reminding me about cold soups though- I think gazpacho might do the trick!

You could have bought a lot of baby food instead. :2razz:

You first. Have you tried that stuff?
Soft diet doesn't mean baby food. Anything that is easy on the jaw works. Soft, well cooked foods are great.
Here is an idea.
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and cauliflower.
Cream of broccoli soup.
Risotto and poached fish.
Use a knife and fork the mash it up until tolerable.
Put that pork chop down for the moment.

....or, put that pork chop in the blender! Mmmm.....pork smoothie.

now that's just wrong.
Got another one. Marinated tofu, grilled, with mushroom puree and creamed spinach.

...I'm going to stick with my porkshake.

I guess one can make potted pork but ... nah. I'll stick to fish for now- the fish they have over here is pretty flavorful so you dont have to put any sauce on it at all.

Make a hamburger, all the fixings. Put it in a blender with some milk. My roommate said it tasted just like a regular hamburger when he had his jaw wired shut, same thing for pork chops and mashed potatoes.
Of course he may have actually been saying it tasted awful, kinda hard to tell what he was saying, his jaw was wired shut after all.
Still We fed it to him and he ate err drank it all so either he liked it or he was really hungry

Some bacon, some ham, a little maple syrup, blend on high. Nom nom nom.

Put the blend blade in as opposed to the chop blade then throw in from fresh fruits and some little cream. Then pour in to small containers and freeze. These are nice for deserts and snacks and even better if you can put sticks in them to eat like popsicles. Strawberries and cantaloupe, kiwi and peaches, apples and pears for example. Ask the kids to decide. Easiest is milk shakes.

I fine chop spinach and broccoli and heat with a little butter and salt.

Muscle milk, water and ice. You will be benching 350 in no time.
