What is your favorite alcoholic "shot" to drink at a bar?

As a fun challenge, I guess I get it, but in terms of an intelligent pairing, this is awful. I definitely like bourbon, and I absolutely love Tabasco, like seriously love Tabasco and go through it really fast, but putting the two together seems like you're destroying the best of both to achieve an over-stimulus.

A "shot" is not the same thing as a pour of a fine liquor, so I'm not going to just say my favorite shot is a pour of a 40-year Lagavulin single malt. A shot is different, more for fun and inebriation effect. In that case I would say good bourbon with a splash of club soda or Red Bull is about as good as a shot gets.

Don't have much of a preference for shots -- don't do much of them anymore I suppose. For mixed drinks, I like me a gin and tonic.

Oops forgot to add my preferred chaser for the whiskey shot would be a beer (the classic boilermaker cocktail) that isnt a stout (stouts have a strong taste that drowns out the whiskey).

For cocktails/mixed drinks: probably the black Russian (the white russian is too dudeish.) or an absinthe.

I guess that's the difference between being 20 and being 50. At 20 you try to fit in. At 50 you drink what you like.

I agree. Now I drink what I like, and don't really care what anybody else says. I drink what I like.
