During this pandemic are you getting in better shape or worse... no judgement as I sit here with a paycheck, time off and everything good with my family and nation... just wondering how you are spending your time.

I was getting in better shape already but this lock down has given me even more time to get in shape and change habits.

I was getting out of shape the past few years... no longer.

How about you?

Worse....the wife is home and has huge problems with the whole imprisonment in ones home concept....And I injured myself and am not at my best...today was the first day in 8 that I was nicely mobile.....she has been squiring the Hound around The Hood way more than is good for me.

Hugely important question here: Do you have a woman with you currently?

I highly recommend having a woman.

I can see if there are any left on Amazon.

Ive been working from home for a few years now, and my routine hasnt changed much. I got a treadmill in one room, and the swimming pool, though I'm sort of reluctant to swim because I usually get a runny nose, and this Covid thing might be a worry. So what I'm doing right now is just cardio (3 mile run) on the treadmill, and then yoga, stretching, and calisthenics.

Lost some weight but not as in shape as before.

Same.

My gym is in my basement. All free weights. A bench, some dips stands, various bars and plates.

I also have worked from home for 5 years, so nothing really changed other than my wife being home all the time. That annoys me.

Or let me edit that: I'm in better shape, but it's not because of COVID. Best strength shape of my life, good cardio but I doubt I'll ever be back at my peak (wrestling; it was brutal). It's because I've been doing ~3 upper workouts per week and 2 lower workouts per week, with running on top, consistently for some years in a row now.

In the past, I might get sick, take a break, then the break snowballed into months off. And then I'd lose everything I've gained. The last few years I made sure to keep plugging away. No excuses. I think the only exception is that if I've got serious GI issues, but that's very rare. Who wants to vomit and crap themselves mid-deadlift?

I'll be a pool of liquid soon.

Why, to remind me that I need to leave the house more often?

Playing a few holes of golf and drinking beer all day on a sail boat isn't conducive to fitness, but I'm giving it a hell of a try.

I work upstairs but most of my activities are on the ground floor. So, I probably climb 50 flights of stairs per day. I'm glad my company and I are essential workers.

Our golf course is shut down... but I live within a mile and bike over with my putter and wedge and goof around for a bit...

Virginia Beach is handling the Covid-19 situation better than most of the country.

We are still fairly low in the number of cases, and that is a minor miracle considering the number of transients that come through here on a weekly basis................ seeing that we are the largest military complex in the world.

We had less than 15 cases here and no new ones in four weeks... but we are still shut down. Reducing to Level 3 tomorrow though.

Well. I love living next to the beach... off to it I go for the next couple of hours. :)

Ah, Virginia Beach. Been there a few times in my youth since that's close to my grandparent's house. :)

going for my first tennis game tomorrow. Should be great.

I am staying about the same. Right now since we are eating on a budget and there are multiple people to satisfy, I am only able to do keto two meals a day.

One of the most evil things about working out is that you can work out for months and for one reason or another take a week to 2 week break and lose it all!

Then you are back to block 1.

You just remember in your head of pushing and pushing yourself all that time and that there should be some kind of reward in the bank. But Nooooooo.

My biggest incentive to workout is seeing someone my age with a beer belly and poor posture. Don' want to be that guy.

Prior to the shut down, I was involved in a regimen of playing pickle ball and weight training which added up to about 5 days each week of good exercise.

For a couple weeks, nothing and then Springtime yard work.

Different, but still effective.

I'm looking forward to getting back on the circuit training machines at the Y and getting out on the Golf Course.

Weight is about the same. I'm not getting as many steps in, though. My wife and I decided to fix that with long after dinner walks with the dogs and the kiddo.

Gym is closed so been trying to stay fit without. Lots of running and cycling. Doing HIIT in my sitting room. Don’t have any weights but copying something seen online, I made a kettlebell out of a canvas bag and a cast iron casserole pot. Miss swimming the most.

That is what I am going through over and over. I gained a little too much over the past couple of years knowing I was going to get back in shape... but here I am and I lost 20 pounds easily enough but the next five are a nightmare. I lose them with sweat and effort for two weeks then my Achilles is sore so I have to take a few days off and gain it right back. Lost it with two weeks of sweat and running then my hip is in pain for a week and gain it right back. Argh!

For an occasional workout I do masonry and concrete jobs and that way I exercise and make some cash..Winning!
