Cases of mysterious vaping-related illnesses rise to at least 127

Cases have been reported in 15 states from coast to coast but mostly in the Midwest.

At least 127 people in 15 states have fallen seriously ill with lung damage and difficulty breathing, confounding doctors struggling to diagnose and treat these patients.

The only thing linking the cases is that the patients all reported using vaping products that contain either nicotine or THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
=============================================
Described as a serious & progressive lung disease, this chronic disease requires life with mechanical breathing assistance.

While looking at possible synthetic analogs of the endocannabinoid anandamide, which is a thick, tarry material, I had considered vaping as possibly the easiest means of administration. Not any more.

Nicotine is a poison. Excessive level of nicotine is fatal. Sadly, but fortunately rarely, on occasion a parent will catch their kid with a cigarette and require the kid to eat the cigarettes in the pack. This a fatal level of nicotine.

The problem with vaping pipes in vape shops is they use and turn a huge amount of glycerine and flavoring into steam - what creates the massive clouds of "smoke" (steam). This is to assure the person goes thru a lot of it having to buy the liquid frequently. This is what causes the harm, not the nicotine (unless the person takes nicotine to an excessively high level.) It is the additives for flavor and the huge levels of steam with it that is called "popcorn lung" because it produces popcorn looking blobs in the person's lungs.

Can you find one documented case of "popcorn lung" caused by vaping?
