Daily exercise log

I live out in the tropics, and the heat is way too much if I do this outdoors. I gotta turn the AC on and a high powered vent fan just to keep myself from fainting. Plus my trusty towel is right on the handlebars because I hate it when sweat runs down my face lol

I used to laugh at that old saw.... "It's not the heat, it's the humidity".
A few visits to Pittsburgh, Pa in July and NYC in September, and I stopped laughing.

8.1 mile run

8.1 mile run

+ 2h of planting (~25 pots of various things in soil. ie, basil, thyme, cilantro, parsley, other herbs, etc).

Today: 6 miles walking, 3.5h yard work (cleaning/mowing lawn, planting a bunch more of tomatoes, etc).

Full weights workout.

Was at least 3-6 miles walking on the days since last post...

haven't participated in a while, and i finally have some time to catch up. each day since my most recent post, i have logged between ~5,000 and 15,000+ steps. today, i push mowed the yard. weight is within healthy range. might drop a few pounds to prepare for my upcoming physical.

Full upper weights workout, extended 'cooldown'.

The morning after my 1am treadmill run, my whole body felt stiff, and my yoga and stretching didnt seem to help.

There is a massage (not full service) spa at the mall within walking distance to my house so I went over there. The girl who gave me a 1 hour body massage wasn't even 5 feet but she was packed full of muscle. I dont know what she did but she literally stood on top of me while I was lying on my stomach and pushed down on my back and I heard my spine snap- it must have loosened up a tightness there and then she worked specifically at my thigh and calf muscles- that was painful too but she managed to smooth out the contractions there. When I left I was feeling a 100 percent.

Total bill was $8 plus tip. Not bad. I kept sneezing because of the scented oils though.

Full upper body workout. Various stuff during the past week..

OK, I definitely pulled a muscle. I thought just getting back into the running would alleviate it, but it's gotten worse. Now I'm limping. I guess I'll take a break from running for a week or so. Aargh.

A lot of walking over weekend, run yesterday, about to do a midday lift.

I was on a road trip for a couple weeks. So no running (also had a cold for part of it).

Yesterday, back on the tread. 30 minutes of HIIT. Woo! Felt awesome.

I feel your pain. I hate when I'm injured or sick and have to recoup. Hope you get better soon!

Full weights session.

Mowed the lawn.

Trimmed the lawn and attacked various vines crawling over a fence (don't ask...)

about 2.5h workout all together.

17.3k steps. it was a busy but good day.

I do 30-35 pushups after I get up in the morning, and another 30-35 before shower in the evening. I have to do them on my knuckles, closed fist style...doing them normal with palms flat on the floor was killing my wrists.

Used to jog a couple days per week, but my left knee doesn't like it. Need to get into cycling, or something. My cardio sucks.

did 10K+ steps each day this work week. managed to lose a pound, as well. my current BMI is 23.2. next physical is in June. i'm hoping to eat really heathy to fool the blood test, but i'll probably cave in and eat pizza a few times.

Away last weekend/mon. Picked up a properly nasty cold from my father and was not particularly useful during the week. Still not doing all that great, but dragged myself down to the basement for a full weights routine.

It might not have been the best idea. Oh well.

Another lift + mow/yardwork yesterday, then a run today.

5/29 Wed: 2.7 mi run.
5/30 Thu: Full upper weight workout.
5/31 Fri: 5.4 mile run
6/1 Sat: Full upper weight workout.

Should just post a month at a time...

Get you a set of perfect pushups to spare your wrists.

Monday, weight training, mostly incline bench, shoulder work. Lots of core work between sets. 100 or so pushups, a long brisk walk.
Tuesday, 100 pullups in sets of 10. 4.5 mile run at a 7:20 pace.
Wednesday, 6 mile run at a 7:30 minute a mile pace.
Thursday, 5 mile run at a 7:15 minute a mile pace, 220 pushups, in sets of 30, varying between narrow and wider grip per set.
Yesterday, 6.2 mile run at a 7:30 minute a mile pace. 30 pullups (in sets of 10), 30 chinups (in sets of 10), core / abs work.
Today, weight training - shoulder press, various rows, 50 parallel bar dips in sets of ten, core work between each set.
Tomorrow, 12 to 14 mile run at a 7:45 minute a mile pace.

When I do pullups, I go all the way down and all the way up, no half assed ones. Same with pushups, I go deep. I get an average of 100,000 to 150,000 steps in a week, every week. Been running and strength training my entire adult life and I am about to turn 43. Still rocking abs, pecs, and a vo2 max of around 57 or so. I don't squat anymore as I can't recover enough with all my running I do. I no longer dead lift since my back was broken in 2016, though I keep my back strong with all the rows and pullups.

Do those work? In Leary of stuff like that...not interested in being the fool who is parted from his money, lol.

I have been using a set for 10 years. They are a little harder than normal pushups as there are some stability muscles involved when you use them. You can also go deeper. They are easy on your wrists though. You can get knockoffs on Amazon that are just as good as the original ones.

took a nice long walk in my hometown.

Nice thread.
