It would be nice if it could be made clear that the "like" button also includes the "thank" button. In other words: "Like" and/or "Thank."

I often do not "like" replies that are addressed to me, but I feel that a cultured person should at least "thank" the sender.

Perhaps both; that way the context could be better understood.

I believe the version of the mod for this (Advanced Post Thanks / Like by DragonByte Tech) allows for some creative freedom on how the like (thanks) appears all we really have in application here is an icon but the core functionality of a like or thanks does not quite equate to how they are stored by stats (under your name on the left.) The more items you stack there under Name, Icon, Join Date, Location, etc. means taking more real estate to account for trying to handle both a "like" for a post or a "thanks" for the post. It sometime is also painful to apply a change like this as all of it is stored in tables behind the scenes and takes some creativity to apply this sort of change to without harming existing stats.

Its been awhile since I've had to mess with things like this but even this version of vBulletin with this software while the more stable of the versions and mods out there, can still be brittle from time to time.

Of course then there will be a demand for a “No Thanks” button.

How about just saying thanks, or using a “Thumbs up” emoji?

I belong to a swimming pool forum that switched away from this model to another brand , and its been a year and it still has issues. I say leave well enough alone.

You should be very gentle with me because I am a computer-illiterate senior citizen (82 years old).

I do not want to post a reply with just the word "Thanks" or an emoji.

That would be unnecessarily taking up space in the thread. Or does that not matter? Some threads are so long now that I did not feel it would be courteous to post with no actual comment (except the word "Thanks").

Have a nice weekend!

As an 82-year-old computer-illiterate senior citizen, I have absolutely NO idea about what you have just written.

But I both LIKE your reply and THANK you.

I'm wondering now if a rate button, from say 1 to 10 might be the easier thing... I too am computer illiterate as those things go, but maybe some sort of compromise can be established. It'd be nice to know what passers-by think of your opinions.
