How about adding a "Social-Democrat" lean?

Many of us Social Democrats use the current "Libertarian-Left" lean, which isn't really representative and also is confusing to other forum members. With all the attention on the Leftward swing of the Democratic Party, the rise of Bernie (Sanders), the coming election, and the general rise and interest in Social Democracy in general, I think now might be the time to do it.

And let's face it: Even Trump wants more immigrants from Norway! Us Social Democrats are on a roll! :2razz:

I don't care whether DP adds the requested "lean" label, but if it's warranted or enough folks want to tick that box, by all means, I hope, for y'all's sake, the label gets added.

I, for one, don't much care for labels and I care even less for labels that denote membership in a political faction. (See Federalist 10.) I'm all for articulating a given stance regarding a given policy question, but I generally eschew reducing/trivializing myself or my positions to a label. I do because although I'm well aware of the nature and extent to which my stances comport with various political classification, for every stance I have that comports with "this" category, I have another that comports with a different classification; then as time passes, the currently de rigueur and ostensibly applicable classification changes, yet my stance is same as it always was.

You and others can, as well you should, do what you want as goes appending politically descriptive labels to yourselves. I don't have and won't devote time to keeping up with such things; I just barely have time to discern what my own damn stances are and whether they remain sage and equitable. Thus what I can't "by osmosis" glean about where my stances fall given currently vulgar classifications, I simply won't know. I'm okay with being in that regard ignorant.

You perhaps are not thusly content, and presuming be so, I hope you get the label you requested.

I'm an Independent, not a Democrat, but I'm social....I visit and hang out with my friends, entertain friends and close acquaintances, travel, participate in community activities, etc. I guess that makes me a Social Independent. (???)

Or even better, simply allow us to add a custom lean. A lot of people are wearing "other", "independent" or "undisclosed" because none of the handful of leans the site provides accurately describe our beliefs and we don't want to be immediately mischarachterized.

In American politics I am an independent. I've voted both Republican and Democrat in elections and am registered with no party. If I could set my own lean it would even more accurately represent my beliefs.

So first of all. Lets get something clear and out of the way.

USA Democrats.
Most democrats in USA calls for the abolition of Capitalism. When you abolish capitalism in a socialist society. You get communism. People in USA has been brainwashed to think that social democracy is the same thing as communism.

USA Republicans.
Seriously guys. Norway is not a communist nation. Get over it. In communism monarchy does not exist.
The kingdom of Norway. The Kingdom of Denmark. The Kingdom of Sweden. Are not communist nations.


What is Social Democracy.
Ocasio Corted and Bernie Sanders calls for social democracy but they want to abolish capitalism. When the government owns everything. This is called communism.
Popular talk show host like Dave Rubin and Ben Shapiro calls for the abolition of government ownership. The private people should own everything. This is called pure capitalism and Libertarian society.

There are 3 types of pure Socialism.
1. National Socialism (White power Nazi. White people are superior to all other skin colors).
2. Communism (Government owns everything).
3. Fascism (Survival of the fittest. The Strongest survive and the weak die).

Social democracy is called center politics. It is a combination of the best libertarian and socialist ideas combined. For example the kingdom of Norway has private ownership and government ownership existing side by the side. Norway has a capitalist right wing economy in combination with left wing socialist welfare.

Public Hospitals.
Private Hospitals.

Public Schools.
Private School.

Private insurance.
Public Welfare.

Private libraries.
Public libraries.

Well Social democracy is the best of both ideologies from right and left combined. When you combine left wing socialist and right win libertarian ideologies. You get CENTER POLITICS. If you want USA to become a social democratic nation.

1. Stop calling for the abolition of capitalism.
2. Start combining left wing and right ideology to create center politics.
3. Stop the left wing propaganda and right wing propaganda against social democracy.

Examples of left wing propaganda on social democracy.
Social Democracy is the abolition of capitalism.

Examples of right wing propaganda on social democracy.
Social democracy is communism and calls for the abolition of private ownership.

Socialist left wing politics + Libertarian right wing politics = Social democracy (Center politics).

I see you call yourself Libertarian Left. In Norway this is called center politics. Center politics is a combination of socialism and libertarianism.
The foundations of social democracy is CAPITALISM. Without Capitalism there is no foundation to build social democracy on.
Bernie Sanders, Noam Chomsky and Ocasio Cortez are not Social Democrats. These people are communist because they want the abolition of CAPITALISM. There is a lot of propaganda regarding social democratic nations in Europe.

Norway is not communist nation. It is a Kingdom. The Dynasty ruling Norway is from Denmark. Just because Norway has Danish dynasty. Does not mean everyone in Norway is Danish.

Social Democratic nations are very nationalistic. For example when you visit Norway. Make sure you never makes fun of the king and the monarchy. Or else the Norwegian will beat you to death. There is a celebration in Norway called 17 may. Every 17 May the Norwegians get to the see the king in Public. And they wave flags, eat hot dogs, ice cream, dancing and all that stuff. In order to have a social democratic nation. You must have nationalism (Love your own nation. This means people needs to love the American Republic). The Norwegian sure love their monarch, kings, princes and princesses.

Since I am not able to edit my previous post. I just add a new reply. There is a lot of propaganda about Andrew Yang. Many people spreads propaganda and claims that Andrew Yang is a communist. This is very wrong and you should not believe this propaganda. Andrew Yang is a Taiwanese Chinese. This means he is the enemy of the communist mainland China.

See there is something called Chinese Civil War. And China was split into
Hong Kong (Former British colony)
Macau (Former Portuguese colony)
Taiwan (Chinese people but are enemies of communist China)
China (Mainland Chinese people but are enemies of Chinese Taiwan)

You don't even understand basic definitions, so I think it's safe to dismiss your opinions. Never, at any point, has Bernie Sanders or AOC called for seizing the means of production and making all companies public, which is required to be a communist. What you're thinking of is social democrat. In the US Bernie and AOC are seen as very far left, in Norway they'd be center right. Further, calling Trump a libertarian is incredibly hilarious and incorrect. Definitions and words matter, you know.
