I noticed that one gets an icon added when they reach a certain level of posts such as 10K. But notice it seems to stop at 50K, wondering why that is, why not a 75, 100, 150, and so on?
Prime example is Turtledude that has over 200K but the icon is still at 50K, and I am sure there are others.

There should be a 1 million mark, and you get to be the Emperor/Empress of Debate Politics.

If a poster hits one million posts, we send someone to their house to force them to go outside for an hour. It's a safety thing.

What difference, at that point, does it make? It's likely a feature of the software package used and fairly difficult to change, but as you noted the precise number of posts made is readily available for those who actually care about such things.

Might wanna get that person ready on standby , Helix. We have a new member who is averaging 300 posts a day !

....and there is that legal liability thing.

Aside: I have long since quit smoking tobacco products. Marlboro was my poison; for a long time they did a “green stamp” type promotion. There was a small tag on every pack and there was a rewards catalog. There were some decent items. There was also some big ticket items, a pool table, for example. There was a disclaimer that any item over bazillion tags would need more than one person to sign on for, I think at least four smokers had to claim the pool table....

Looking at the members list TD is at the top with over 208,000 posts. Don't think he'll reach 1 mil any time soon.

The prize for 500k posts is a lemon and a bottle of vitamin D pills.

I like both of those things. Time to get to work.

Being that it took years for me to even notice I would say it was not that important to me, it is just something I did notice and thought I would ask.
