I have a question: What is more offensive, being called an idiot? ...or being called Nazi, Hitler, Klansman, or similar.

I would think that being a Nazi is a far worse thing than just being an idiot.

If the forum gives infractions for calling people idiots, as I heard they do, then how much more should they give them out for calling people Nazi or Hitler?

Are the rules against "flaming" here out of whack, straining at a gnat while swallowing a camel, to borrow a phrase?

I am simply asking a question. I don't need all the hate attacks in response that I am sure are waiting in the bull pen

When people run out of intellect, they start calling people names. It's just their frustration that they are not getting their way, and they don't have a baby rattle to throw anymore, so they throw insults as the next closest thing at hand.

I agree with you one hundred percent.

I am curious though why some insults garner an infraction while worse ones do not.

Well I suppose that all Nazis are idiots, but not all idiots are Nazis. Though I think that directly calling someone a Nazi would still fall under the baiting/flaming/trolling rules here and would garner the same points. However, a mod would be better able to answer the question.

Who says they don't infract people for that? lol Sounds like you're a little upset about some points you got, but that doesn't obligate them to telling you what they did with the other side of whatever little feud you found yourself in.

Given how you've represented already in the forum, I expect your frustration won't be something they need to manage for long.

Personal insults are personal insults. But if you call a group or someone who is not a member here a name, don't think you'll have to worry about an infraction.

Calling somebody a poopoo breath is much more mature.

You can ask that question via a PM only.

Won't do any good, mods do not discuss actions against other members. One only need keep their own nose clean...or pick the times when the points are worth it.

That does not address the question. The question is why some insults garner an infraction while worse ones do not

How do you know which ones earn an infraction? Have you tried several to test your hypothesis?

I did answer the question. There were two more sentences after that which you quoted which did address the question, you should have kept reading. Directly calling someone a Nazi would fall under flaming/baiting/trolling rules and would garner the infraction points related to that infraction. You can report posts that you feel are in violation of the forum rules.

Tell you what.

You call me a Nazi, I report you, and then you get to find out how severe the punishment. Magnanimous, I know. But that's me...always willing to help my fellow man.

Or, you can spend a little more time worrying about yourself, and less time about others.
