Is Disputatious71 a real person, or a robot programmed to post political cartoons? Does anyone know? Disputatious, if you're real and breathing, please answer this question!

Time for a Turing test?

If he's a robot, he won't pass. If he's human, I owe him an apology. Let's see which is right.
I did a quick search and found a comment back in 2011, that I do not think a robot could or would make.
Just keep this one off the ganja mmmkay !
I think it was in regards to a new running back for a football team.
Computer are not good at slang, and would mess up the context.
In my professional opinion...Human!

You might be surprised.

I work AV for corporate events, so I'm a "fly on the wall" in meetings.

Internet marketers are using really sophisticated bots in their campaigns. They are getting better all the time at appearing human. The demos I've seen are both impressive and creepy.

I know they are making progress, but I purposely chose a comment from 6 years ago.
I would really be surprised is someone engaging in ongoing debates on a day to day bases over a variety
of political topics is a robot, especially posting cartoons.
Humor is so subjective, for a machine to decide if a piece of graphic humor is relevant and funny,
I think is beyond the reach of machines today.
(To be fair the old Unix Fortune -o feature could be very funny, it was a random selection of offensive comments
from the real graduate students who wrote BSD Berkeley Standard Distribution.)

Yeah, my point was more general.

The DO talk about monitoring sites for negative reviews etc., so that they can do damage control.

But their goal is to have website visitors believe their interactions are with a real person and not a bot.

My new phone has "Bixby" which is surprisingly adroit at understanding and executing complex instructions. I'm still learning it, but supposedly with use it actually becomes the kind of electronic personal assistant they've been promising for years. Doing things like noticing you usually have an alarm set for Monday through Friday and if it gets around your regular bedtime and no alarm is set it asks if you want to set an alarm.

Has anyone had any interaction with Disputatious? Just wondering. All I've seen are cartoons posted, one after another.
