Suggestion: 3 points for every X number of a poster's threads that get flushed.

I dunno. Every five?

I could get behind this. Good suggestion.

Eh... Sometimes threads get flushed because of what came after the OP. So... I dunno about that. I'd rather ding whoever was essentially responsible for it getting flushed.

I dont believe in points for unpopularity so no in principle, and if it ain't broke dont fix it, this is already the best joint around.

So, let's edit the suggestion to be threads flushed because of the OP, not because of what other people do later

No. I believe the rules already provide sufficient limitations on unacceptable thread content requiring penalties.

Meanwhile "Flushing" (IMO) for otherwise "trash threads" is already penalty enough.

Not every thread that is flushed is because of the person who made the thread.

Who do you propose tracks how many threads every person has had flushed? Do you not think the mods have better things to do with their time than keep track of that?

What exactly do you think is going to be gained by doing what you propose?

Terrible idea, provides no real benefit, but makes more work.
