you are more than welcome to try ... we won't be part of NATO for sure due to Trident's removal from Faslane ... we will most likely be banned from buying tech containing US and rUK tech ... i can live with that we build ships anyway we will also diversify our ship building industry most likely our airforce will consist of Russian made aircraft ... Gripen uses 1/3rd of it's tech from America and another 1/3rd from England

Scotland will have a hard time affording much in the way of armed forces in the same way Ireland does.
I suppose you could decide to spend more of your gdp on defence but what social programs are you willing to cut?

I'm not against Scottish independence but Scotland is a small country with a small population so wont be able to afford much of an airforce whoever they buy it from.

Yes, as I said you don't like Russia but unfortunately for you the US president won't do a thing about Russia for whatever reason.
Either you have free trade and accept other countries independence or you act like a bully and try and dictate what goods and services countries are allowed to buy.
Guess which one is going to result in the US being isolated on the world stage?

Again I get it, you don't like Russia.
The German government don't have to listen to you though and are free to do as they wish.
I'm sure if the boot was on the other foot and Germany was threatening the US for signing deals with countries they don't like to but energy you'd feel it was completely unacceptable for Germany to try and dictate who the US can trade with.
