I think the British government should start a program aimed at blowing up the sun right away!
It's bloody boiling at the moment and its totally unBritish, we can't live without good old fashioned British drizzle and cold!

This is outrageous and I think the world should help us out in our hour of need.
Make Britain cold again!

A the Oscar for the most inane post of the day goes to (unwraps envelope)

and all that weather you send here now - weather coming from Brtitan: 33° and humid - never thought that could happen ;o)

How hot is it?

Firstly, sorry for any horrifying mental images this may bring but I'm sat here in just my boxers and shorts and I'm sweating like a pig. Maybe the fact I haven't had a haircut in 3 months may be a factor but it's hot, hot hot!.

It's 30c which for the UK is unbearable!
It's odd as UK hot is all muggy and horrible and I've been to both Kenya and Italy in the summer which while much hotter were somehow less bloody awful.

Can you spare a few hundred nukes to give the sun a bit of a kicking so it sods off for a while?

I blame Brexit. I voted to stay in so we could just borrow some clouds from the rest of Europe when we needed them. That's what the EU's for isn't it?

My brain is turning to mush in this heat.

I would blame Brexit, the EU, the Jews, the Nazis, the Trumps and Johnsons and may be the man made climate change - than you are save and put anything in

86 F?

That's Spring weather.

A cousin near London told me his bedroom was 156°. I told him he was FOS. He showed me a thermometer at nearly 70°C....that he had right next to his laptop.

It has been in the 90s and if you don't have A/C that could really suck.

You'll miss us from the EU.... be honest and admit it.. :lamo

in fact I´m more Westphalian than German. And more EU than Westphalia ;)

because if you say Germany, it contains the Bavarians! In the big EU pool they are not that annoying than in smaller masses

You forgot about aliens, video nasties, violent video games and D&D for that classic scare story feeling.
Video nasties were blamed for everything back in the day.

UK houses are designed to trap as much heat as possible because hot weather is uncommon here.
Nearly all houses and flats are solid brick builds with loads of insulation, minimal ventilation and no air conditioning.

I live in an old farmhouse, a frame house and the gaps are filled with loam and straw - thats good with heat and cold - the old ones knew better

What happened to our favourite Russian agent? I've not seen him for ages? And if you are Westphalian - how come you're sensible in comparison to the others who said they came from Westphalia?
:poke

you mean that hunk that constantly pisses on everything - even the state who is feeding him because he don´t wanna work?

I have a rule: every society has at least 1% asholes and has to stand that ... ;)

I think our troll was tired running against walls or may be he got fired

I got a question that has nothing to do with your present heatwave, but when I checked a recent article from Tuesday with loads of photos, I couldn't find a single face mask and social distancing seems to be unheard of. Nobody worried anymore in the UK about the Coronavirus?

Haha - forgot about him - no, I meant "Westphalia" himself.

A more obvious paid Russian poster I have yet to meet.

It was 111/44 here the other day.

We are all remembering the 30th anniversary of the hottest day in Phoenix this week, it hit 122/50. I remember it well.

Well you are in a freaking desert... UK ain't a desert.

Now here in Spain it will hit 39 degrees tomorrow where I am, which is unusual because of the Med Sea. Of course inland 35 to 40 is standard many places in July and August.
