Anyone new to DP would be scratching their heads over the responses to the OP. He quoted an article in the Times of Israel minus any editorializing of his own. That's all. For some reason Native Americans were especially sensitive to the Spanish Flu. It killed them at a much higher rate than other groups.

Jews are well off financially so they travel a lot.

Also, at least in America, they tend to be doctors who come in contact with infected patients.

Most likely because they were not exposed to influenza for hundreds (or longer) of years like the general population of European (Old World) ancestry and their immune systems treated it like a novel virus.
