who is your Eurovision favorite ? i´d like to see more songs in national languages and taste not just Euro - pop , like this one :

I've thought long and hard, and decided Iceland have nailed it this year! UK nil points!

great,

do you know how many people live in Iceland ? so badass country , its most robust puncher, way above its wight ... . today Island is all over the world from Netfix to football world cup

this is this years Dutch entry into the competition.

I'm sorry, is this Twitter?

No, it's the debatepolitics forum.

The world of the tranche of votes that slops about with dismal/hilarious partisan predictability every year might be up for discussion, or how the BBC have taken the UK chosen song process totally in-house this year, but who wins, pfft who cares

what do you think about this song chances ?

maybe top 10, not as good as last years song. But also not bad. I have heard a lot worse songs in last years eurovision song contest, but it is not my favorite. And let me be honest, this is what I consider music

This is the kind of stuff I listen too, not the bilge usually performed at the EU song contest.

nah not twitter, but I am pretty sure (when looking at the history of the past few years) it will not be Germany or the UK.

We still have to wait and see if the EU song contest will be taking place at all (with audiences).

The Netherlands is hosting 2 huge events in the first half of May so it will be still uncertain if any of them will be with public. I think the F1 race is to some degree safer because it is an open air event but people will still have to travel with public transport to get there. Just imagine, thousands of f1 fans packed into trains. Corona madness will determine if it goes through with public.

... Corona madness ...

Yeah tell me about it. Guy phoned in on the radio, said 'I've got a bit of a cold ... ' and I was, argh, quick, turn it off.

well in Italy it is madness, they have had 4636 patients so far of which 197 have already died and 462 are still critical/intensive care patients. Their death rate at the moment is over 4.5% mortality rate. That is not a good thing. And every day there are hundreds of new patients.

Eurovision leaves me flat. So much great music has come from Europe, let's listen to that instead.

This is embarrassingly bad. Unfortunately, East Europeans all vote for each other. The competition is too politicized.

whats about Scandinavians, Balkans , etc. ? who do they vote? the rules have been changed so my vote for neighbor does not work like it worked before

I did not know the rules were changed but I wonder how that will work out. Some countries have many land neighbors such as Slovakia and Switzerland while others have none such as Malta and Cyprus.

oh boy , Cyprus gives every time its 12 points to Greece , + It likes Balkan style music so many point goes to Balkans always . Malta gives to Italy

swedes done it again for Azerbaijan )))

It mystifies me how the babushka song from Russia did not win in 2012.

I can, it was terrible.

But still a lot, lot, lot, lot, lot better than the Dutch song, ouch, that was a train wreck of epic proportions. Since then we have been sending much better songs.

My Eurovision favourite will be, as always, the "switch channels" button.

Sorry guys, pouring acid over the whole thing is an irresistible urge with me, so just ignore.
