Nope, Russia stole it and then gave it to the Poles. For having stolen large swaths of Eastern Poland.

But that's the name of the game, everybody stole everything from everybody else in that area.

In fact Germany would have stolen it early on, had there been a Germany at the time. As things stood, doing that was left to the Teutonic Knights.

Like I said before, Germany forfeited the land when they started numerous wars of aggression and extermination. Complaining about Russia “stealing” the land is rather laughable.

As I said, everybody stole everything there, the trick today lies in living with what is.

Germany (at least the government at the time) dealt with reality when it finally recognized the Oder-Neisse line (the GDR in 1950, the FRG first in 1970 and the whole lot finally in 1990).

first we know, there lived germannic tribes. They left the land ~ 5th century. Then came the early slavic people. In medevial times conquered by germannic knights...

there was always someone before... there are no "god given lands" we all should live with what we have and try to avoid conquering stuff in present and in future ;o)

Prussia was part of the vast German empire based in the Margraviate of Brandenburg where its capital was Berlin. Ergo, German.

Prussia was incorporated as a state in the Weimar Republic in 1918.

and we know what the Soviet Union's/Russia's price was no further expansion eastwards by NATO ... how did that go even the Germans say that was the price of reunification

they didn't leave they were forced to leave via the Hun invasion that forced Slavs from the Russian Steppes to modern day Eastern Europe, the Goths empire reached as far east as Minsk, many of the Germanic tribes ended up in Spain, North Africa Africa, France, Italy & England because of the Hun invasion/conquest of massive swathes of Europe

Stole it, you say? Well, here's an example of when Russia bought land. This is the Nishtadt peace Treaty, which ended the Northern war between Russia and Sweden. According to him, a section of Karelia, Estland, Ingermanland and Livonia went to Peter I for 2 million efimks (silver coins) – almost 56 tons of silver (1 billion dollars in today's prices).
All these territories at that time belonged to the Swedes, who in this way added well to their coffers. Russia became the rightful owner of the Baltic lands. The armistice of Nishtadt was concluded in 1721 in a victory for Russia.
Now I wonder, why, for example, the United States supports the independence of these illegally separated territories (Estonia, Latvia), that were legally purchased? Isn't it time, if we talk about justice, to return Northern Mexico, which was torn away as a result of the war, to its rightful owner - Mexico? Or is it "completely different case"?

Pssssst ..... The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk of March 3, 1918, ceded Russian rights to the entire Baltic area to Germany. In 1920 after Germany's defeat in WWI, the Soviets concluded peace treaties recognizing independent Baltic states. By 1922 all three states had become recognized members of the international community of states. Under the treacherous Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of 1939, Germany ceded the Baltic States to the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union recognized the independence of the Baltic States in September 1991. The Russian Federation recognized the independence of the three Baltic States in December 1991.

You know Mr. Stalin, your revisionist Stalinist history isn't going to work here at DP.

As for treaties. I will repeat Bismark words for you: "Don't expect that once you take advantage of Russia's weakness, you will receive dividends forever. Russians always come for their money. And when they come, don't rely on the jesuit agreements you signed, that supposedly justify you. They are not worth the paper they are written on. Therefore, it is worth playing fair with the Russians, or not playing at all."

Trying to compare the US military to the Wehrmacht is rather ludicrous.

The Poles were not interested in spending another couple decades as a puppet state. US troops are the best way to avoid that.

The subtitle of Solzhenitsyn's book "the GULAG Archipelago", from which most of the modern myths about the USSR originate, is subtitled in the Russian edition: "the Experience of artistic research". In other words, in english, "Non-scientific fiction".

When you now see a young man who makes fun of a liberal with his cries about "hundreds of millions of victims of stalinism", this is also the work of Zemskov, who gave an invoice that largely allowed to overcome some of the Khrushchev and Perestroika lies.
