Finland's new Prime Minister - Sanna Marin

I assume no one (here) cares about this news, but she is kind of record breaker.

Finland anoints Sanna Marin, 34, as world's youngest serving prime minister

I hope she's doing well. Good to get some new blood in our political scene - so it's not just old faggots messing around.

Well if Buttigieg gets elected, he is going to be pretty close as the first young gay one (although I really doubt that’s going to happen- this country’s not quite ready for that, I’m pretty sure).

True. A bit sad, because Pete is better in so many ways compared to Trump. If that happens (it's unlikely, I know) Europeans would like it as they don't like Trump at all (around 4% of Europeans trust Trump - I think that's way too much).

Another fake number? Yup..... :doh

I, for one, DO care.

Finland is such a beautiful, peaceful, and progressive nation.

(And, as Stalin discovered, a courageous group of people, too!)

I hope that Ms. Marin will do everything possible and necessary to keep Finland that way.

Only 4% Of Europeans Trust Donald Trump

According to the survey of 60,000 people across 14 EU countries, conducted by the European Council on Foreign Relations, less than one in 20 Europeans trust Donald Trump. After years or erratic foreign policy and Trump’s public denigration of NATO, the US-dominated security umbrella over Europe, most Europeans no longer believe they can rely on the United States to guarantee their security.

There was an excellent piece in the Sunday Times about the experiences of a young couple who immigrated to Finland (because of her job) and have been very pleasantly surprised at how much easier and more secure their lives are that they were in the US. And their standard of living is basically the same.

No comment on her achievement? just her looks.

I am not sure it is that big of a deal. She barely gets to lead her own party and she was picked by the female leaders of their other parties. She may very well have been picked not because she is a great leader but the coalition sees her as someone they can control. Going from citizen to PM in 7 short years while leading a party that may not even be the largest in her country raises some yellow flags with me at least.

It is an interesting development. Is this meme true, that all major parties now have women as their leaders?

It's true. Our nation is under women's undeniable brutality. Men running scared and I'm loving it

I recently watched a documentary film about Finland's great success in education. Every female teacher they spoke to was hot. Whatever secret the Fins have to life, keep doing it! They top the happiest countries list, smartest kids, and I'll vote them for hottest women.

General situation is pretty good, but truth is that we have issues too. Inequality is on rise and education system need some research so we're able to spot current flaws. Luckily we are still relatively far from "predatory capitalism" as extensive regulations and taxing is keeping greedy in check. There's always some people who are pushing for more aggressive capitalism even when we should know better - it's not - really - the way how people are used to live here. Chasing money at all cost is - most of us - odd concept (and we are used to cheap things like walking in nature, all you need is enough clothing and boots, happiness is pouring in while you just stay in forest, pick some mushrooms, berries.. as you can do it here without asking premisson as we have this every-mans-right here).

Why do you think that nobody would be interested in this news?
I am, anyway.

Well, Finland is small country and some people don't even know where it is... and I feel like this forum is mostly about US stuff.

Well ... Finland is a lot bigger than Iceland - not to speak of Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. :)
And one should know where these countries are as well. :)

I've refrained from commenting on the topic for the same reasons.

Yet I've often been to Finland, mostly on business.

Yes, that sounds very different from the USA. Finland seems to me like a country that the globalist vampires forgot to devour :lamo Keep some garlic and holy water at the ready.
Good luck to you. I hope the Fins continue their way of life and prosperity.
