BBC to broadcast ‘no holds barred’ interview with royal on Saturday night

Prince Andrew has agreed to speak publicly for the first time about his friendship with the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, in a “no holds barred” interview with the BBC’s Newsnight programme to be broadcast on Saturday night.

The prince has been the subject of fierce speculation over his relationship with the financier, who was found dead in a New York jail cell three months ago.
=================================================================
Speculation about 'Randy Andy's' involvement with young women, some underage, supplied by Epstein, have created a real scandal around the prince.

'Epstein’s accuser Virginia Giuffre claims Prince Andrew was “an abuser, a participant” in her exploitation as a teenager and says she was coerced to have sex with him.'

We get BBC on Verizon cable here in the U.S. but I could find nothing about the schedule for this hopefully lurid program.

I don’t trust it. The royal family has too much influence with the UK media and Buckingham Palace was involved in killing this story here. Don’t expect any challenge to his pleas of innocence.

This. It will be pretty sterile.

Looks like he's dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't

Picture raises doubts over Prince Andrew’s claim in Newsnight interview

The picture of the Duke of York with his arm around a teenage girl who now accuses him of sexually abusing her stands in stark contrast to his claim that he has no recollection of meeting her.

Taken in 2001 after a night out in London, it shows him smiling with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, his arm around her bare midriff.
======================================================
As they sometimes say in France, tojours l'amour, tonight for sure.

His comments may be in stark contrast to the photo, but his comments are certainly plausible.

Most people could probably look at a photo of themselves from 20 years ago without any recollection of either where it was taken or who they were with.

Now, if there were numerous photos of them pictured together, then that's not so easy to dismiss.

That picture has been circulated before on media here.

On the other hand, do I believe him - no, I don't. There are previews (just watched one now) of him being challenged on meeting the girl and in moments very reminiscent of Clinton saying he "never had sex with that woman" - he doesn't convince.
The reporter who interviewed him doesn't really allay doubts into his story and she says there were no red lines or questions she could not ask.

On the other hand, she also comments that this interview conducted in the heart of the palace was a very eery feeling.

So the Queen gave permission for Prince Andrew's interview?

More like the Queen has been advised to give permission for Prince Andrew's interview.

In fact the Royals don't say or do anything without being advised by their team of legals and PR gurus.

Oh he is certainly not doing himself any favors with this interview....he looks more guilty now than he did before it.

[h=3]Prince Andrew: I couldn’t sweat due to medical condition[/h]
Prince Andrew is asked about Virginia Roberts’ description of dancing with the prince, that he sweated profusely and she went on to have a bath.
He reveals a “peculiar medical condition which is that I don’t sweat or I didn’t sweat at the time".
He says he was given an overdose of adrenalin during the Falklands War when he was shot and it was “almost impossible for me to sweat”.

He adds that the condition has only been alleviated in recent years.

That one, if true, pretty much shoots down Virginia Roberts claim to have had sex with him as she made the point about him being pretty sweaty.

It's physiologically impossible. If you don't sweat, you overheat and die! Throwing in the Falklands veteran plea was golden! Twitter had fun!

"Did he run around with his tongue hanging out?

The internet couldn't stop talking about Prince Andrew's sweat - the only 6 comments you need to read The Poke
Yeah, that WAS rich.

He probably meant to say he was unable to spit (not uncommon in dangerous situations as I know), but then Virginia didn't accuse him of spitting :lamo

All day today, photos of Prince Andrew leaving clubs at night

1) Sweating
2) In shirt only (he said in video he only ever went out in suit and tie.
3) Having his arm licked by a long tongued woman (he said he never did public signs of intimacy / affection.)

Mind you, I'm in two minds about him being extradited to the US (would never happen) until the US started allowing American criminals who committed crime or murder to be extradited.

Best part was the Prince’s answer to why he stayed with Epstein, in his home for four days, even after he had been convicted of sexual crimes.
After a long sigh, the Prince answered that “it was a convenient place to stay.”

Who decided that this interview was a good idea?

I heard his EX PR guy resigned during the negotiations for the interview. (which took months!) He's distancing himself from any connection. But then if he wants to work again he'd have to!

The professional hazards of people with a brain having to work for somebody with none.

It was a bit rich of those Yanks to suggest that his royal status didn't exempt him from extradition.

Mrs Sacoolas immediately came to my mind when I read that.

Perhaps a straight swap would be a good idea?

The only real winner in this interview was Pizza Express in Woking that got flooded with top ranking ratings by sarcastic commentators. Some of them were quite hilarious.

Oh he is certainly not doing himself any favors with this interview....he looks more guilty now than he did before it.

I watched the entire interview last night, and I must admit for the first 10 minutes I thought it went rather well - then it quickly descended into a cringefest that had me wincing from disbelief.

What the hell was he thinking with some of his answers?

I couldn't believe that he actually found some of the interview amusing at times.

I see that KPMG have now severed ties with him, and you can bet a lot more companies will be dropping him like a sack of potatoes over the next few weeks.

God that interview was awful; he wasn't even really challenged and somehow he still came off looking like a guilty douche.

Not to mention the fact that he admitted to having Epstein at his daughter's 18th birthday party, two months after Epstein's plea bargain conviction for sexual offences.

Emily Maitlis just looked at him after that and said "what were you thinking"

I suspect that he was trying to not call her a liar for fear he would be sued for defamation since that is the new tactic to sue people who cannot be prosecuted, and then he just went off the tracks.

Extradition of American citizens for crimes they committed is extremely rare. The Sacoolas case just consolidates this, she will never face justice.

Like the saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words".
