Brexit Deal Reached

Do keep up, its a wholly different plan that what May was trying to ram down Parliament's throat, so thats what matters, not what who thinks what should be whole. Boris has many options open, but of course youre just upset because he made it this far, despite your fearmongering.

OK, please explain the "wholly different" plan differences to May's deal. :lamo

May signed up to protecting a lot of the working/employment regulation and to maintaining similar standards. Johnson has scrapped the entire section altogether, leaving UK workers rights entirely at the whim of the employers.

Spoilsport!
I knew the other poster would obfuscate or resort to ad hominem but at least he she it now has an answer to give.

Sorry! Ca I apologise with this message from 2008? It's not so funny after watching Bozo talking to Peston tonight!

Nigel Farage doesn't want to be politically relevant. Once Brexit is fully delivered, he wants to go back to being a stockbroker.

He's an opportunist. Once Brexit is over, he is politically irrelevant so he has to milk it while he can.

Yea but that can easily be added in again in a trade deal... [emoji39]

Out of curiosity, do you think the EU would want to add those worker rights back in or a new UK prime minister? Many of those same workers voted for Brexit if you look Nissan, Honda workers for example. The turkey's voted for Xmas so should the EU feel obliged to help them out?

Depends....a Tory government would not. They want no workers rights and preferably back to the good old Victorian days of full exploration.

A Lib Dem or Labour government would.

The EU could care less for the most part depending on what access British citizens and EU citizens will get on a permanent basis.

Not all Conservatives are the same. We certainly have the right in ascendancy while moderate Conservatives have been pushed out.

still won't save the UK ... a general election will be called within a couple of weeks and it will start the process of Scotland leaving the UK

Labour will not see power in the next 20 years with that communist terrorist loving clown Corbyn in charge ... he has basically set LAbour back by 20 years after all the turmoil of Tory Government ... Labour are still 5 to 10 points behind the Tories in the polls

Seems there may be the numbers to support BoJo's bad deal - the rushed timetable however could be where it all falls apart.

Resetting the whole of the UK's economic and trade direction in 3 days is a scarily horrible idea. Equally, there will be 13 months transition period to fine tune details and amendments to the deal before December 2020.

If the opposition do not get Jeremy Corbyn to step aside for this period and unite around an alternate interim PM then they, not BoJo and the ERG will be at fault for the disaster that is coming.

Aye.

Beyond which, if we single out the lion's share of the opposition (IOW Labor itself), not ridding themselves of Corbvn pretty soon means it won't be a horse they'll be trading the kingdom for, it'll be a hearse.

Hitler appeared in your post. Not the topic here.

I see...

TDS.

There is literally NOTHING anywhere, anytime or anything that does no include trump for you.

How sad...

No. There's no Trump Devotion Syndrome here in this thread.

Here we go... Speaker calls "Division!" and the MPs troop off to vote on a 2nd reading.

The timetable vote later however will impact on whether this Bill stays on. I'm going out on a limb and predicting the Bill will be agreed but MPs will demand proper time to scrutinise it.

Whether BoJo pulls the 110 page Bill if he loses the 2nd vote is another matter altogether...

R.I.P. United Kingdom.

R.I.P. economic growth for the next 10-20 years

---EDIT---

Govt win 329 to 299 against on Withdrawal Bill. Majority of 30...

Next.... the big one. Timetable.

Yeah, somehow expected. Quite a chunky majority even, so I guess many in Labour feared their constituents.

Now for the timetable.......................

well, timetable lost by 14 votes.

Not surprising either, no majority of the sane buys a house it hasn't even been inside, let alone sent a surveyor to.

BoJo not happy (unsurprising) and wants to find a way to withdraw so that we leave. The DUP not happy at all about BoJo's deal and withheld support to the Govt.

He's become obsessed with his Oct-31 promise.

As if it made any difference whether it's then or Nov-10 or Dec-24.

S'long as parliament has had ample opportunity to look at the thing and, if necessary, table and vote whatever addendum it sees fit.

The EU are not going to obstruct an extension and BoJO can't call a snap election on account of not having the numbers, so he'll just have to spin his failure of today on delivering into parliament having prevented him.

That sells with his fans anyway.
