Without American leadership in NATO, which Trump has abandoned, they don’t have much.

Trump has betrayed the legacy of the men who went ashore at Normandy. Destroyed the legacy of Churchill and Roosevelt, and defaulted in his role as world leaders.

Trump has a lot of experience with default. But this is on a new and enourmous scale.

Erdogan's migrant threat (turning loose 3.5 million or more onto Europe) is empty. He's made it before and keeps doing that to play to his home gallery.

Fact is that he's already faced with an ailing economy and held responsible for that by many Turks. If the EU cuts him off completely (together with possible economic sanctions from the US), he'll be toast.
 
Germany can ban the sale of spare parts for Turkey's German built Leopards 1 and 2 and if America did likewise with Turkey's American built Airforce and US made artillery then Turkeys military machine would soon grind to a abrupt halt

Good luck with that. The thing Hitler didn't get was that his Jews weren't greedy because they were Jewish. They were greedy because they were Germans. Most selfish country on the planet. They don't do anything that is not good for geschäft

Yep. This incursion reeked of a distraction from domestic issues. It's easy to get the citizens looking away by creating a conflict with an old enemy.
