Russia's RT and Sputnik barred from UK conference on media freedom

LOL you only read that after you got called out on it. Too late.

If youve read it it was because he was going against Chamberlain's appeasement strategy- this just proves you werent reading the link again. I guess whatever school you graduated from in the Bahamas didnt teach you that, did they?

Its very much on point. The UK as a whole enacts massive censorship and they set up a conference on "press freedom?" Talk about hypocrisy.

Keep digging that hole you started.

Lie and try to put words into my mouth as much as you can but none of the links demonstrate a consistent ongoing example of a govt mouthpiece in the way RT and Sputnik are.

Try again - but don't shift your ground when it's proven the laws affected commercial companies too. It's embarrassing to have to explain how silly that it for you to do.

I dont need to lie- youve dug your own hole by claiming the BBC isnt government owned, then you proclaim that it isnt influenced by the British government. I proved you wrong on both counts.

All youve done is embarrass yourself- which you have a habit of doing.

I dont need to lie

I give you post 25 of this thread. A lie from start to finish.

youve dug your own hole by claiming the BBC isnt government owned, then you proclaim that it isnt influenced by the British government. I proved you wrong on both counts.

Everything is influenced by something else, there is nothing which is not influenced by some other "thing."

You also use the simplistic fact that the BBC was set up from the original private company but conveniently ignore that it is "independent from direct government intervention" - taken from your own link.
You have foolishly confused "state-media" or "state-owned media" which RT and Sputnik are with "public-sector media" which is what bodies like the BBC are. All your posts demonstrate that you cannot cogitate that there is a subtle difference and despite my trying to educate you on your misunderstanding, I have failed miserably.

~ All youve done is embarrass yourself- which you have a habit of doing.

Like I said above, your ability to understand is the problem. One day you may understand that the govt does not pay for, nor control the BBC but that is a battle for someone else to take on.

It's embarrassing to have to explain how silly that is for you to do.

He believe's everyone else is wrong because he is always right. He somehow "knows" Britain far better than the Brits responding in this thread.

What's most embarrassing is the Trumpianesque double-down to avoid acknowledging a false equivalence narrative which yields an erroneous conclusion on his part.

At core ... he unfailingly defends the Putin regime.

LOL yeah right. If anyone lied, you did. You quoted the wrong entry to the link you claimed to have read.

I gave you links that proved otherwise. All youve got is hot air.

Like I said above, your ability to understand is the problem. One day you may understand that the govt does not pay for, nor control the BBC but that is a battle for someone else to take on.

Sure, I eagerly await your better in this. I'm sure he/she will do a much better job than you did.

~ I gave you links that proved otherwise ~

When you can't even cogitate your own links, there's no hope for anyone trying to explain the intent to you I'm afraid. This is not an education site.

Funny since you never even read the links until I called you out on it. Your pathetic excuses fail- as usual.

Well, you've descended back to lowest point of discussion yet again. I simply refer you back to my previous - basically I've read your links and they don't support you. You have a limited understanding about the subject you are attempting to pontificate on and you simply look foolish.

When you are able to discuss intelligently or even wish to discuss the thread topic - (RT and Sputnik) - in a mature manner, we can try again.

Wrong- I have proven that the British government influences the BBC's coverage using censorship, MI5 vetting and others, and I have cited a number of examples that you have utterly failed to refute. Instead you become childish and falsely accuse me of lying- typical fallacious ad homs since that is all you are capable of.

You lose. Again.

You prove nothing I haven't already said. The BBC for one, has many influences. That is the way of the world.

Please do better. A whole lot better please.

They proclaim press freedom but bar news outlets? Maybe they should rename it press censorship instead...

LOL They are not "news outlets" they are propaganda machines. You would think an American would understand that.

The Kremlin also says Russian soldiers in eastern Ukraine are there on vacation. Some choose to swallow such swill.

Yes and it seems Putin has "compromat" on the entire Republican party too. They all must go down with the Trumptanic so we can regain our sovereignty.

So no refutations. I expected as much. Better to stay out of debates altogether.

I'm afraid he doesn't and he hadn't read his own links either. Just consider yourself lucky you haven't been caught up (yet) in the downward spiral of his increasingly weak yet hostile argument whenever you quote him.

RT and Sputnik are not viable news outlets. As the Brits confirmed during the Salisbury treachery, they are state-owned propaganda tools.

As a fairly regular reader of all of the above, whatever shred of credibility the Brits might have had after Tony Blair and the Downing Street Memo was completely lost with their handling of the Salisbury story. The British media are just like the US media--publishing sources for government deception and propaganda.

Whether you understand it or not, conspiracy is part of the human condition. You may attempt to dodge the facts, but that's your problem not mine.

Humans conspire, especially those humans in office. Yes, power corrupts. As Madison noted, men in power OUGHT to be mistrusted.

The Downing Street Memo detailed how those in office manipulate the public perception. The Salisbury affair made the Brits look like the bumbling idiots they can be.

And you may attempt to ascribe everything to the Conspiracy Deep State, but that's your problem, not ours.

Too scared to address me directly, eh? I'm not surprised since your excuses so utterly fail LOL.

A very naive statement, especially when the BBC does the same thing.

Unit you demonstrate maturity in approach to discussion AND the ability to read & understand your own links we are simply going to suffer your poor excuse for debate. I'm no masochist so I bid you adieu.

You may have the last word and claim victory.

Oh, look at this...

BBC Accepts Iran’s Demand Of Blackout On Its Persian Sites Amid Regime’s Attacks On Press | HuffPost

The BBC has agreed to conditions set by the Islamic Republic of Iran to not share reporting materials it gathers in Iran with its Persian-language channel, BBC Persian, an internal email obtained by HuffPost reveals. The agreement represents a capitulation to a government that has been hostile to press freedom. The Iranian government routinely shuts down media organizations critical of the regime and imprisons, tortures and executes journalists.

The agreement was made with the Iranian government in exchange for Iran allowing a BBC correspondent into the country, and, according to emails that HuffPost obtained, it’s not the first time the British broadcaster has agreed to such terms.

The email, sent Saturday to all BBC Persian staff by a BBC Persian digital editor, said that BBC foreign correspondent Martin Patience and his team were in Iran “and due to leave on Sunday.”
