Tory Leadership Race Updates

I appreciate facts aren't really your thing, ....................~
In times like these (and context such as this) the English language really shows how ambiguously it can be used.

Were one to go even further, as in "I appreciate the stupidity of this comment", it would become even clearer how appreciation really has nothing to do with anything at all here.

Seriously though: It'll be interesting to see whether the Tory members will really all sing "bring in the clowns" and how many will not.

You made a claim he would be a homeless PM, otherwise what was the point of even bringing that up...

I appreciate that English may not be your first language ...

Right on cue, the pretentious twatter birds come home to snipe.

I'll leave this here- bears repeating:

Since Boris Johnson's wife has chucked him out of the family home and now his girlfriend has told him to get out of her flat, we are basically talking about having a homeless guy as Prime Minister..

Johnson is a Brexiteer and some of Britain's tabloid newspapers attempted to frame Friday's incident as an attack by Remain-voting neighbor Penn and his wife, who are described as 'left-wing playwrights". But the damage has been done and Boris cannot get into 10 Downing Street with his girlfriend. Boris Johnson's polling lead is dwindling in the wake of the incident and Johnson's rival, Jeremy Hunt, may have a chance.

Why do people even care about the police being called to his flat by some neighbor who didnt like him? Is this some sort of "gotcha" thing that's important?

Many a politician has been brought down not by the transgression but by the lying and covering up / evasive nature of how they deal with the question. The Brexit faithful will put him in number 10 but his popularity with the wider electorate took a big knock this weekend.

Mmmkay, if we really must do this, I shall add 2 words to my original statement:

And deservedly so.

Jeremy Hunt has said that 'coward' Boris Johnson wants to 'slink through the back door' of Number 10.

Well, there's always hotels til he's given the key to No. 10 or maybe Dad can put him up meanwhile.

Talking of the key to No. 10, is that for the lock on the back door? Because the front one sure doesn't have any lock that's accessible from the outside.

Aaahh, that sheds some light on the question I raised in post #59.

Thanks:lol:

That's 'cos he's going to be sleeping in the dog-house.

Oh dear Boris. If even the Daily Fail (and the Daily Torygraph) are calling bs. on the silence and the undated media spin ...

Boris Johnson wins the first round of voting- by more than double against his closest rival. Go Boris!

One thing I've not really seen mentioned is that although Johnson got (with the Hunt spoiler votes thrown in) about 175 votes in the final round, so yeah, still slightly more than his remaining rivals combined, but actually compared to the 200 votes that lame duck extraordinaire Theresa May managed in her no-confidence vote, well

Boris Johnson is our Chappaquiddick Kennedy - he may talk a good game to the faithful but the rest of us know he's dodgy as f**k.

Are there no beds in 10 Downing St? :doh

If people are condemning him for not commenting on what happened in his flat, then UK citizens are even sillier than I thought. The cops said there was nothing, so there is literally, nothing to consider, except maybe jailing that nosy neighbor who made a false emergency call.

The neighbour did not make a false emergency call. There was a reasonable belief that domestic violence or physical harm may have occured.

Looking at the two papers - "Third Term's" Evening Standard picture and then "Sven Karma's" Daily Mail picture it's clear that while George Osborne is trying to make peace with Boris - some of his previous fanatical fans at the Mail are not convinced.

Last Night's interview with Laura Kuenssberg also highlights what a chancer he is - the fanatical faithful have lapped him up but when questioned and finally forced to clarify his big plan for Brexit - it's that
"he could do a new trade deal with EU leaders before the end of October.
And he says he would be able do that before resolving the most controversial conundrum - how you fix the dilemma over the Irish border.
He clearly believes he has the political skill to pull that off. He and his supporters would say that is a plan."

I'm trying not to laugh here.

That whole incident is a big nothingburger. Boris is right to be dismissive of it.

You were one of the few libertarians on this forum who hadn't completely went down the crazy rabbit hole, so I'm disappointed that you're supporting Boris Johnson, who is a racist. I thought you may have been better than that.

It's not just the fact that he's a racist, it's that his time at the Foreign Office has shown he's completely unsuitable for being PM.

The idea that Johnson, with zero diplomatic skills - as evidenced by his time at the FO - and a history of insulting world leaders, is going to negotiate a complex trade deal with 26 countries is a joke.

Trumps minions harbor similar illusions per China, North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, and Palestine. Try not to laugh too hard now. :lamo

Nobody but Boris himself and a few Americans think he is capable. Most of the Brexiteers don't care about a deal and the troll-factories around the world just want a disaster for the UK; that's their oar in this boat.

Prove he's a racist.

Prove he's a racist.

Calling Africans picaninnies with watermelon smiles, saying Africa should be ruled by European colonists because the natives can't govern themselves, calling Muslim women in burqas letterboxes and bank robbers, hanging out with Steve Bannon.
He's also called gay men bum boys, and said if gay marriage is allowed, then why not marriage to dogs.

Amazing what some people consider to be wit.

It's not witty, it's racist, and it has led to Muslim women being verbally abused and harassed on the street.
