Hi,
I've been following the Brexit debacle for the past few weeks/ months and a few worrying issues seem to have been brought to the surface as the UK becomes more politically divided.
Primarily my concerns lean towards the amount of power the EU seem to have over the current member states and also their long term agenda to create a progressively more powerful superstate which will rival US, Russia and China in terms of a trading bloc and now, its revealed, a new military force - the EU army. The threat of an expansionist European empire feels very reminiscent to Nazi Germany. Indeed anti-semitic and anti-islamic rhetoric seems to be becoming more pronounced on a daily basis now. I don't say this to alienate, or target, any particular political agenda, be it far right/ far left, leave/ remain, socialist/ capitalist/ liberalist, because the rhetoric seems to be spreading throughout the various political classes in tit for tat discourse.
It seemed from the beginning that the EU/ UK negotiations have been coerced away from a simple withdrawal agreement which would allow the UK to regain its sovereignty together with free trade terms. By allowing the 29 March deadline to pass without the enactment of a 'no deal' withdrawal Theresa May has highlighted the pretence of democratic process. For decades the two party system has withheld legitimate choice for the electorate, especially with regards to foreign policy. The expansionist agenda of the EU has taken precedence to build wealth and power for the corporate elite at the expense of equality and standards of living. With a genuinely alternative Labour opposition party ahead in the polls and euro-skeptic parties poised to dominate the EU elections there is enormous pressure for Theresa May to force through her withdrawal 'agreement' (treaty) before the 23 May deadline. Should this happen I think events will turn sour very quickly.
The UK will have been forced to give up its democratic voice within the EU yet be subject to the will of EU bureaucrats. Voter apathy and despondency will cause widespread civil unrest across Europe. Together with an economic downturn and a surge in extremism the EU will be forced to use ever more stringent policing methods in an attempt to subdue the people. The pretence of democracy now gone the EU will become a powerful imperialistic superstate with ever increasing control over its subordinate members. Eventually the new EU military will pose too much of a threat to the other diverging superstates triggering major worldwide conflict. This will likely escalate from the current conflicts along the Russian border and throughout the middle east.
