what do you think, shall prostitute be made illegal in Europe /USA and shall omega - males be punished for having sex for money ?

A petition is to be handed into the Dutch parliament demanding that visiting a prostitute be made illegal.

Some 42,000 young people have added their signatures, which means the issue will be debated by politicians in a country that has some of the most relaxed laws around paying for sex.

"I am priceless" is the name of the Christian-inspired campaign.

Campaigners want buyers to be penalised, under the so-called Nordic model.

All it does is harm the sex workers. The least they could do is pitch for it to revert to a decriminalized model, rather than full on criminalization.

When you criminalize sex work, human trafficking becomes rife and the workers have no agency.

Of course puritanical Christians are pushing for this. In their reality nobody should be having sex unless it's marital and procreative, all while denying the social and political realities that exist in the rest of the world. Totally pretentious. I hope the Dutch government does the sensible thing and tears up the petition. Human lives matter more than crackpot ideology.

It is like keeping marijuana illegal, all you are doing is pushing it underground where it cannot be regulated.

That is exactly false. When prostitution is legalized sex trafficking and sex slavery increases.

Do you have anything to back that up? Or any logic at all, because logic says that your statement is completely false.

The black market is what causes trafficking, sex slavery and abuse of the workers. The workers have no recourse if they are abused, since what they are doing is illegal and if they are wronged they can't go to the police. If it was legal, business would be regulated, monitored, inspected, there would be safety guidelines, the women would have security to protect them, ensure they get paid, and if they are abused, they can go to the police and be protected by the courts.

Most political parties are against such a ban. And most importantly the sex workers are completely against such a ban/criminalization. Because it completely endangers their safety and possibly their life. Also, while forced sex work is a crime that is aggressively looked for and punished, voluntary sex workers should be allowed to live how they choose to live without the demands of a small minority of very religious youths.

It is again, such as someone on Dutch TV said, the religious right trying to dictate something regarding sex. They are obsessed about other people's sex habits and women's rights. They should go bother their own church leaders about the abuse in the churches rather than obsessing about the free decisions consenting adults make regarding sex or their bodies.

Highly dubious comment there, all it does is make it harder to find and increase the risk to women.

How can there ever be trafficking of a legal commodity?

It's not just "Omega Males" who have sex for money, my confused, puritanical friend. Look who we just elected president!

That is a load of crap you just pulled out of your "prison wallet"! When prostitution is decriminalized, sex workers are much safer, can get help from law enforcement when needed, can apply for medical insurance, can get disability when they're sick, etc.

Cause everyone knows that sex trafficking is practically non existent in the gulf states.

"the sex workers are completely against such a ban/criminalization" +1. they have to decide ...

Just another stupid idea.

It is safer to not choose this system for sex workers, their safety will be impeded by such a system. Now it is safer, not brilliant, but still better than other systems.

+1, your and German models are much better than ours , its for sure

Very disappointed to hear that the Dutch may join the Swedes in criminalizing prostitution.

IMHO, there would be far fewer sexual assaults in our country if men in our country were able to legally hire sex workers.

In the early days of our country, the people (and the police) were much wiser. There were brothels in all cities, where men could attend to their physical and psychological needs.

During World War II, I have read, the armed forces arranged for servicemen to have the services of brothels.

I keep finding it hilarious that in our politically correct world the term "sex worker" has been invented in order not to have to use the accurate term everybody understands, i.e. "prostitute".

Exploitation of women should be a very serious crime, hence having pimps should be made illegal, all prostitutes should be either corporations owned and led by themselves or they should be independent contractors so to speak/one person businesses.
