Utrecht shooting: Several hurt as man opens fire in tram

I read where the family states it wasnt religiously affiliated but that he had some family problems regarding a wife or girlfriend and snapped. Any more word on the cause?

then you would be wrong in doubting us. There are several people who are sitting out life sentences. And on top of prison sentences we can sentence people to be locked in a mental institution if they are deemed a risk to be released.

Well, that is an issue, we do not really know, but I can state a few things we do know or suspect of the man:

1. a drug dealer, dealing in XTC and cocaine

2. was on the docket this month for alleged multiple rapes of ex-girlfriend, he had threatened the girl that he would set her house on fire and he hit her in her face

3. in 2013 he fired a gun in the direction of people who he had it in for, but none were hit. After the arrest he gave his brothers name and personal details as his own, his brother is in the realm of radicalized people so for that reason the police might have believed terrorism but that is still far from sure

4. attempted burglary in a truck

5. shoplifting

6. insulting and threatening a cop by words and by spitting the officer in the face

7. drunk driving

8. destroying a window

9. fencing navigation systems

People who know him say that he is mentally unstable, one day he would be walking around in traditional Turkish garb denouncing people who did not behave muslim-like enough, the next day he would walk around in modern clothes drugged up and drunk as a skunk

Another person who knew him said that if he was coked up, he could do the stupidest and insane things, in 2007, under the influence according to people who know him from drugs, the man jumped of the 4th floor of a flat. His father feels that this whole thing might have had something to do with a woman.

But until he opens his mouth and tells us his side, we may never know for sure.

More things are being written about how they caught the killer. Because it was very difficult to find the suspect, the police decided to monitor his internet banking transactions and found that he had made a payment and he had used a borrowed telephone. That telephone was traced and there the suspect was found.
 
So far there is no indication that he knew anyone on the tram, so the suspicion that it was a terrorist attack is still valid, luckily he did not have a more serious weapon or even more people would have died in that tram.

Why was he not deported then? Does your country deport criminal immigrants with lengthy backgrounds involving rape and attempted homicide?

Possibly because he has the Dutch nationality. He may have been born in Turkey, he has been living here since childhood.

Ah, I wasn't sure. I believe Sweden used to limit nationality strictly for ethnic Swedes, but I was unsure about your country.
 
Sadly a fourth victim has died from the likely terror attack in Utrecht. A 74 year old man from Utrecht has died from the injuries he sustained last week in Utrecht. One victim still is seriously wounded in hospital.
