Bloody Sunday: Soldier F faces murder charges

Some cheese with your whine? The irony of a white American pointing out lack of reparations to the conquered / enslaved however just has to be enjoyed.

Think there've been bigger. The Omagh bombing for example killed 31.

Historically, the massacres numbered in the thousands however.

Your the one whining.

Pay up.

You do know many of them were jailed? And I see you didn't mention all the sectarian violence perpetrated by the Ulster Loyalists and their terror groups. I guess only the victims of IRA violence matter if I read you correctly.

Wrong the vast majority got away with it, I lost a good friend in the cowardly birmingham pub bombings, do you actually have any idea of the carnage the IRA BOMBS did to innocent men women and children?

Around 200 PIRA Terrorist were given letters of full pardons, as part of the peace process. Now they drag up charges from over 40yrs ago. Is the law being applied consistently?

John Downey - Hyde Park Bomber incorrectly received one which he used a his get out of jail free card last year.

Peter - I've looked at this further - both sides had secret Royal pardons and comfort letters. I haven't found anything sent to soldiers - the irony is that soldiers had to file full reports after any event and secondly soldiers were the ones charged with keeping the peace and protecting the innocent.
There should have been pardons or at the very least, a Statute of Limitations for the forces.

Pay up.

We'll do that when you do to those cheated on your lands.

You can start paying some of the other 200 countries that you colonized and brutalized while you were there also.

Yes, after all this time it is not nice that people get charged, but you would hopefully agree with me that this should have been investigated decades ago. And we do not know the facts, these facts that have come out in this investigation are so horrible that they warrant a charge.

I am feeling dubious about the prosecution, on the one hand I agree with the charges but I am agreeing with you that it is horrendous that other criminals got away with their crimes and that now this soldier is being charged. There is no good answer for this situation.

Facts are known, the British Army has always had to keep records of all encounters.

That is the essence, for the sake of peace terrorists on both sides received pardons and were allowed out or given get out of jail free cards. Everyone but British soldiers doing their duty and following commands was excused.

We'll do that when you do to those cheated of their land and those you kept as slave labour on stolen lands.

Pay up.

Then repay all the other countries that were bilked out of their resources at the point of a gun under the British.

At some point, you'll actually get back on topic I hope.

I don't hold out much hope.

Are you still here, pot kettle!

You're the one that keeps posting to me.

I love it when the same UK people who love trashing America react when they get it right back in their face.

They can't handle it............... and neither can you.

Pay up!

As I told your compatriot on here minutes ago, you just can't handle it when the UK gets called out for it's own atrocities during the Empire years, and yet you have made your asinine opinion made quite clear on here about America for how many years now?

Your hypocrisy and thin skin are quite evident.

And I don't give a **** what you come back with about America, because I already know about our own dark past during certain periods in history.

There is a huge difference though between you and I................as I acknowledge the dark side of America.

Pay the Irish!

If you read back in this thread, you will see that I’m actually half African by descent.

As for who has done more damage to Africa – yes, the British and Europeans did a lot originally but African countries won their freedom back. When they started trying to stand on their own feet, we got embroiled in your cold war. Just as African countries were starting to build futures, those futures were stolen and destroyed by American Cold War antics.

When we produced leaders who were going to change Africa, you assassinated them and replaced them with thieves and worse. Patrice Lumumba was assassinated and replaced with the pro American Mobutu Sese Seko who raped his country for over 30 years. South Africa – part of my family is from Kenya and part of their background is South African – do you want me to get started on American support for Apartheid South Africa?
Do you want me to list all the authoritarian regimes the US still supports? Has supported and not just in Africa?

Hypocrisy? You are blind to the planks in your eye, you pretend to be aware of America's dark history but you conveniently underplay that history with bloody dictators still goes on.

Britain and Europe stole resources and slaves but what is worse? Having won freedom to be brought low by US geo-political games is worse, many times worse because you lie to the world about being the land of the free, land of the brave.

See, this is where you fail every time.

I already told you that I am well aware of what happened in America, and you keep up with your "whataboutism" anyways.

Pay the Irish............and all the other countries the British raped of people and resources.
