Albanian is an indo-germanic language. I don't use the expression "indo-european language", which is modern today, because we have in Europe also languages which are not indo-germanic. I propose Lithuanian. It's preserved so much of its Indo-European roots that they can even understand some Sanskrit cognates.

Not far from Lithuania is Finland on the Skandinavian peninsula. That's why I don't use the expression "Indo-Scandinavian-languages" too. The expressions "Indo-European" and "Indo-Scandinavian" are excluding populations. The people of Finland speak "suomi" a Finno-Ugric language. The old expression Indo-Germanic is still the very best expression. The Anti-racists, who created "Indo-European", created only a new racism. You are thinking by the way "english". The USA for example exterminated the use of the German language in their country during world war 1. Could be it was the only reason why the USA decided to destroy Germany - they hated the Germans in the USA, Germany, Austria-Hungaria and the Osman empire and all multi-national components. An European Army will always have to be multi-national and has to defend all languages of Europe too.
