Finnish soldiers find 'secret Russian military bases' after raiding mysterious island | The Independent
Raided real estate firm boss hires lawyer and retired businessman | YLE

Finnish officials have attributed the raid to a crackdown on money laundering and cheating on tax and pension payments.

But few are convinced. More than 400 Finnish police officers and military personnel swooped down on Sakkiluoto and 16 other properties in western Finland linked to Russia. Helicopters and a surveillance plane provided support. The air space over the region was closed to all craft not involved in the security operation.

europe and russia need to duke it out.

the US will get the popcorn and watch.

best of luck to europe. rootin for you

you are a Putlerist , right?

Re: Finnish soldiers find 'secret Russian military bases' after raiding mysterious island

Well...it wouldn't be the first time Russia attempted to invade Finland if this is the case....but I dont think stationing large numbers of troops on the island would have been the plan; sounds like it would have been more for spying and intelligence gathering.

im someone who thinks europe should stand up for themselves. and if they dont, i feel no sympathy for them.

The island in question is positioned incredibly strategic for intelligence raids on the Swedish coast as well. Can't help being reminded of the mysterious minisubs spotted in Swedish fiords the last couple of years. Might there be an underground docking bay on the island as well?

Säkkiluoto Island, Finland

And when China and North Korea invade Alaska, Europe doesn't have to honour its NATO oath either.

Almost all of Eastern Europe has broken with Moscow and turned towards Brussels instead. And all Moscow has done ever since is bully this, Stalin's old war loot.

Why do you think Pewtin rigged POTUS and Brexit and all the other elections? Eastern Europe deciding their own destiny is a self evident insult to the Motherland.

not almost but ALL

Belarus stands out. Of course, they have their own fascist dictator in Minsk. And Serbia might be so-so.

There's a whole new Axis now; China, Russia, Turkey, Belarus, North Korea. Believe nothing their leaders tell you. Including that dismembered Saudi critic.

And what do you suppose they, Europe, would actually do if it came to that? If America were to grow weak, Europe would come save us? What a laugh, we ourselves do all the real defense of the US...and most the NATO work anyhow, its our overwhelming strength that keeps all under control, such as it is, across the globe.

Everybody knows that.

That's the deal, yes.

I guess we'll see about that.

Hell...

What, 24 out of 29 NATO partners dont even pony up with their not even fair, but only an agreed upon, smaller, share? Pitiful. You really think they will risk their lives for us? US?

Again, what a laugh. Sure, there are some good Europeans, but they are not in control.

If we ever were to fail, I will pity a foolish world. But do tell, you didnt know that its always ultimately up to us? Our partners just are not very reliable. Truth hurts... it doesnt have to, choices are made. Yano?

Do they still pay you guys in vodka?

Damn.

Are all Russian bots programmed to say that to deflect the idiot progressives long enough to maybe wriggle out of discernment? Doesnt fool the rest of us, but we dont control the fake media, either.

Shrug. Who cares, we are in real control.

Just the same, I see it over and over again. I guess Russian bots are only minimally programmed. Not creatively AI, for certain. On the plus side, guess thats how we know which are the Russian bots.

I remember trying to keep track of the interior Russian turmoil through the 1990s, just after the fall of the wall. I remember so-called friends showing me catalogue websites, where young Russian women were selling themselves as wives to any man in the West for a minimum fee, my so-called friends being very eager to make me buy an Eastern wife for a cheap laugh at my expense and not least the Russian womenfolk. I remember thinking this could only create a counter response from proud Russian menfolk. I remember thinking, that this was just like broken Germany after 1919. I remember thinking a strong psychopath might just be around the corner. I remember thinking, "What might be the next Sudetenland?"

Do you know who Cassandra is in Greek tradition?

Not to mention all the former Soviet "officials" who, for a very small fee in $USD, would prepare an "official" (used in quotes for a reason!) set of papers verifying that a Soviet asset was now in private hands.
Any asset you can think of!

A group of buddies I used to know from Venice, California had a post-punk group called "Club Adobe" and they had a moderate following in the USA but their fan base in the USSR was enormous. During the brief flirtation with privatization, these guys went to the former USSR and BOUGHT a Soviet recording studio and cassette tape manufacturing facility...for about ten thousand US dollars.
Now they had their very own facility to manufacture and distribute all the Club Adobe music they wanted for their much larger Russian fan base.
The love affair with freshly privatized former Soviet state owned assets lasted about four years, at which point they were informed that they would be given "fair market value" (a joke) for their factory and it was thought best if they took the meager offering if they knew what was good for them.
They refused, and four days later two of the five were up on corruption charges, they lost the factory anyway and got nothing.

My own boss at American-Russian Television (Sergey Levin - former Soviet TV director pictured below in Rocky IV)

SergeyLevin1.jpg

made a deal to trade a large cache of blank professional videocassettes (Sony BetaCam) for an entire press run of the Melodya issue of Paul McCartney's album "Back in the USSR".
You see, blank broadcast videocassettes were in very short supply during late 1991 in the USSR, thus they were worth a lot of money, much more than the US price and shipping costs.

The album would later be officially issued with an English orange label for Western consumption anyway but the original Soviet yellow label Melodya discs had much higher collector value and once back stateside, we enjoyed a $27,000.00 profit selling the albums to Rockaway Records in East Hollywood.

Serbs are prostitutes, they have always tried to use Muscovy, but what Muscovy can give them today? Serbia is on its way to EU, and all other European institutes even NATO , so no chance for ozero even there. only Hungarian fascist elites are close to ozero
