All you westerners measure everything in $s. You have no other measures of value, indeed you have few other values.
What you forget about the Russian civilisation is that it holds different values. Our values are of collectivism, service, family, and religion. Yours are money, individualism, rationalism.
So, since you have few measures other than $s, your comments are based on this measure. By this measure Russia is indeed weak. But you also know that in practice it is far stronger than your measure suggests it should be. Hence the strange anger over Russia's alleged abilities to influence everything, mixed with self re-assurance that it is all about to collapse.
You Americans are destined, by your own lack of vision, to be perpetually frustrated by Russia's failure to behave as you predict it should. You fail to acknowledge that Russia derives considerable strength from civilisational values that are completely alien to your globalist, individualist outlook.
