Kremlin Says U.S. National Security Adviser Bolton Heading To Moscow

The Kremlin has said U.S. national security adviser John Bolton plans to visit Moscow, without providing details about the trip. "As far as we know, such a trip will actually take place. This is all that we can say right now," President Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on June 21 when asked whether Moscow was expecting Bolton's visit. Earlier on June 21, Russia's Interfax news agency quoted sources in Washington as saying that Bolton was expected to come to travel to Moscow next week to prepare for a possible meeting of Putin and his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump. On June 9, Peskov said the Russian and U.S. presidents discussed the prospects for their meeting in a March phone call and talked about locations, with the Austrian capital, Vienna, as a possibility. "There have been no concrete agreements or understandings, and no specific discussions are being conducted now," the spokesman said at the time.

Why do we hear about this first from Moscow rather than the US State Department? Kremlin maskirovka or Trump admin secrecy?

Don't tell me you've been left in the dark?!?
Trump is going on an extended trip to Europe next month ... and will meet Putin. So, of course his advisers will go beforehand and "pave" the way.

And the story quotes Putin spokesman Peskov.....

"There have been no concrete agreements or understandings, and no specific discussions are being conducted now," the spokesman said at the time.

If you are privy to more credible information, by all means please share.

Of course not; Bolton has not arrived yet.

Not Bolton. You stated Trump and Putin would meet next month (July). When, where, and a source link please.

I can't help you if you don't keep up with the real news.
Check out WSJ from about 10 to 14 days ago, and thereon after Reuters.

I don't think the menu plan for that meeting is available yet.

So no source linky? Then your statement amounts to supposition.

True to form.

You right Rogue. No meeting between Putin and Trump has been agreed - this is very clear in Russian media. Bolton's visit is to see whether there is any common ground worth having a meeting about.

Well, I actually think it's a big deal since Trump's election everyone has been waiting for him to do something...Russian puppetish lol, certainly I'll be watching very closely if Trump and Putin meet. Does he look subservient to Putin.. does Putin have his hand stuck in the back of Trump's suit and making him talk... we're going to have plenty of fun with this meeting, let Bolton do all the work then Trump can be paraded afterwards.

They'll probably meet sometime in July. Location undecided at this time.

Trump will initiate huge concessions for nothing in return ... like he did with North Korea.

Putin will maneuver Trump into ... physical and ideological positions easily suitable for RT/Sputnik/TASS propaganda.

A full meeting is confirmed for July 16 in Helsinki.

Wouldn't it be terrible if the US and Russia improved their relationship? I mean, how absolutely awful ......... we don't want them talking do we?

Not with Moscow meddling in our elections, invading neighbors, and assisting the butcher Assad in Syria.

It's distasteful for Russia to talk to a state which meddles in elections all over the world, invades states across the world, and assists butchers in Riyadh and Kiev.

But Russia has to deal with the US as it is. So must Washington learn to deal with Russia as it is. That's reality.
