Paul Dacre's Daily Mail likes to be credited with winning the Brexit referendum, warning the UK's elderly readership of the dangers of immigration but it also took quite the courageous stand naming Stephen Lawrence's killers when they walked free in 1997.

His replacement - the pro-Remain editor of the Mail on Sunday (Daily Mail sister paper) Geordie Grieg is not likely to change the direction of the Daily Mail but he is probably going to soften the tone.

So, where do you stand on the Mail and it's future? Where do you stand on the last 20+ years of Dacre's editorship?

One thing I wasn't aware of was that the Mail has more female readers than male readers.

It's a tabloid, not much above The Enquirer. This is like, "Alex Jones steps down from editorial board".

Don't know who Alex Jones is and I've never read the Enquirer either - would you classify it as the home of America's Alt Right?

To me, Dacre's replacement at the Mail would be like having a moderate Right-wing (if such a thing exists in the USA) editor take control of Breitbart most popular news outlet.

The Mail under Dacre was a nasty, racist, homophobic, misogynist outlet of bile. It also attacked the UK's democratic institutions, calling judges and the House of Lords traitors just for upholding laws that the Mail didn't like.

The Mail supported fascists in the 30's, and I genuinely believe they would happily have done the same given the right circumstances.

If you really do not know who Alex Jones is, you can count yourself to the few and the lucky ones, because the man is as more disgusting as an open sore on the belly of a gutter rat. Meet Alex Jones

Or him stating that nobody died at Sandy Hook, it was a false flag operation by the government

or this gem

Just burn the thing to the ground. The Daily Mail is not a newspaper, it is a gossip rag.

I get that but we're talking about a tabloid. It has no scruples. It will post anything, no matter how absurd. Ultimately, we're talking about the level of crazy of the conductor on a crazy train. Head of Bait and Tackle.

LOL, I have never read or watched "Info Wars" either and looking at the video previews I don't think I ever will. Alex Jones looks a buffoon - I would never claim anything of the like for Paul Dacre though - Dacre is dangerous and was/is highly influential.
