A vast majority of Russians polled by the independent Levada Center said they hadn’t heard of the latest mass protests against President Vladimir Putin’s inauguration. Opposition leader Alexei Navalny is spending 30 days in jail for organizing nationwide protests on May 5, where an estimated 1,600 participants were reportedly detained. Two days later, Putin was sworn into office for his fourth overall presidential term that extends his rule into 2024. When asked about the "He's Not Our Tsar" anti-inauguration protests, 61 percent of Russians surveyed by Levada said they were hearing about them “for the first time,” while a mere 9 percent said they were "well aware" about the rallies. Only 17 percent of respondents said they were willing to support the protests, nine percent more than those who said in late March that they would be willing to participate in political protests. Levada sociologist Denis Volkov said at the time that demonstrations “simply remain unnoticed by the majority.” The survey was conducted among 1,600 Russians in 52 Russian regions between May 24 and May 30.

Such is the degree to which the Russian state censors information.

You'd think that word of mouth would have spread farther. That makes me think the protests might not have been as large as some would like us to think.

Interesting.

Mayhap that will wake you up to what Rogue's day job is. Russians don't know about it, but Rogue is peddling it as if it were a common truth in Russia. Straight from Goebbels training manual, or not, eh?

Perhaps more people love Putin than hate him in Russia.

Straight from the RT representative here at DP.

Of coarse they didn't know. Their media is government controlled; not unlike the way Trump would like to control our media.

Or that Russians are leery of Putin so answer polls the way they think he would want them to to avoid reprisal.

Lots of reprisals in Putin's Russia.

Mayhap this post will wake you up to what DaveFagan's agenda is.... Protect Putin 24/7 against all enemies foreign or domestic.

Don't address the facts. Attack the messenger....

A poll by the Russians? A poll by the Russians.

It's fondly regarded in the West when it says what they want it to.

But it's also ignored most of the time because it keeps saying Putin is genuinely popular - and that won't do will it!

Of course Putin gets good numbers in Russia. The state runs virtually all of the media. Typical dictatorship.
