March 25, a tragedy occurred in the Russian city of Kemerovo. In one of the shopping centers, there was a fire, the victims of which were at the moment 69 people. Among the victims are many children.

The point is that the recent constructed building in Kemerovo, most likely, did not comply with the rules of fire safety. Permission to operate buildings constructed in violation of the rules is obtained, as a rule, by giving bribes to responsible persons. This practice, as we see, leads to tragic consequences.

11-year-old boy survives jump from 4th floor, but his parents and little sister died in the flames.
The parents of children who died in the Kemerovo fire aren't allowed to identify the body without signing a non-disclosure agreement. It is reported that police also removed cameras and mobile phones from residents of houses adjacent to the burnt shopping center.

Officially announced the death of 64 people, 41 of them children.

 
Fire safety, one of the most basic and important construction requirements. Very tragic.

Why would they hide this kind of thing though? It's madness. Expose it, let the reform occur, good gods. Every nation has tragedies like this...U.S. just had a pedestrian bridge collapse. Mexico just had a gas leak that killed an entire family of vacationers. So sad.

I wonder if these Russians realize that every day Russian warplanes kill children in Syria ... many burnt to death with banned incendiary munitions.

The war in Syria or the war in Ukraine as well as the recent catastrophe in Kemerovo are all consequences of the actions of the criminal Kremlin authorities. Putin and his gang created a criminal system that everywhere sows only evil both in its own state and abroad.

Unfortunately, people in Russia have to undergo through such tragic events in order to understand that they must change its leaders.

Dasha Moskaleva (center) is said to have inspected the Kemerovo shopping mall for fire safety in 2016. The inspection was scheduled to take 20 days, but she did it in two hours and didn't find any violations.

Nadezhda (Hope) Suddenok, the manager of the Zimnyaya Vishnya (Winter Cherry) shopping mall in Kemerovo, Siberian Russia. She is in pre-trial detention and initially charged with providing unsafe services. Also in pre-trial detention is Sergei Antyushin, chrged with not manually activating the fire-alarm system. Mr. Antyushin said he did indeed press the manual activation button, but nothing happened.

Manager Suddenok said she believes the fire was arson, started by minority teenagers (Chechens or Gypsies). This sounds like typical Russian scapegoating. An oligarch co-owner of the mall, billionaire Denis Shtengelov, is in Australia. Shtengelov noted he is not going to come to Russia, fearing criminal prosecution. "To come just to go to jail?" the mall co-founder said. The other mall co-owner, oligarch Sergey Bratushev, is also not currently in Russia. So far, 64 have died in the fire, mostly children.

I know that you hate Putin so this might be hard for you, but what should he do here? Empathy and jailing a few people are not going to cut it. An anti corruption program? New national fire code standards? Caring is not enough, he has to be leading the charge on improvements even though he already has a very full plate, because he cant lose the people.
 
This is the main problem as I see it:

Komkova had allegedly not taken measures to prevent the mall from operating, which had been built without the proper permits, according to Petrenko. She was suspected of abuse of power, Petrenko added.

Seven people have so far been arrested over their alleged roles in the fire that caused 64 deaths last Sunday.

The building housing the "Zimnyaya Vishnya" (Winter Cherry) centre was constructed in 1968 as a candy factory but refurbished as a shopping mall in 2013.
