Oh how I laughed.
Over three months since I've bothered to post on DP (contributing factor: sheer boredom) yet I said to myself before logging in:
1) There'll be an Islamophobic thread about the Northumbria police inqury devoid of any real debate.
2) Liesatallcost with have given us his twopenn'orth.
I wasn't to be disappointed was I?
You can highlight the inherent sexism and misogyny of
some muslim men quite well without being Islamophobic and without generalising: Liz Kershaw did it so well this morning on the Sky News paper review that I wish the clip was available, however I can't find it despite searching. Maybe some kind soul will put it on You Tube. She succinctly pointed out how we should all be alarmed by this sex grooming phenomena, and not be scared to condemn such sexist ideas about women held by
some Pakistani and Bangladeshi men for fear of being seen as racist. And she managed to do that without being racist or targetting the entire male muslim community.
I wonder why posters like liesatallcosts can't raise their concerns in the same way as Liz Kershaw did, without displaying Islamophobia? Could that possibly be because they are inherently, erm, what's the word.....Islamophobic?
