The secret Elysium website had 87,000 members and was launched on the internet in December, prosecutors say.

The suspected ringleader, a 39-year-old man, was arrested in the state of Hesse. The forum was also used to make appointments to abuse children.
Police seized the website's server. They found that toddlers were among the children sexually abused, reports say.

German outlets state that site users were as far abroad as New Zealand and Australia.

Looks like the dark web is getting more and more light thrown in.

Good.

But but they are not Muslims... so cant be a child sex abuse ring... (yes that is sarcasm)

on a more serious note, yes it is good that they busted them. Policing the dark web is not easy.

With sarcasm noted, I wouldn't care if they were Pastafarians.

Anti-pasti being the Pastafarians version of the anti-Christ, it would require destruction just as much.

Eating it being the most favoured method in my book.

Great news. I like many aspects of the dark web, but this element of it can't be stomped out fast enough.

Every once in a while a dark web site is tracked down but it is almost always due to human error on the part of the operators rather than the technology failing. I would be curious to see how they did it, though they will probably keep that secret if legally possible.

Oh, the police browse it as well.

Beyond which a membership for a site of upwards of 80,000 doesn't really make for overall security.

It's the old principle of if a secret it to be kept, a maximum of two people knowing about it should not be exceeded. With one of them preferably dead already.;)

anybody caught up in that kinda stuff should be castrated with a broken bottle ... absolutely vile these people

I feel that's not really necessary. I know the point you're trying to make, but...meh.
I'd never heard of this Elysium thingy, but it sounds like good news.
....I assume you mean the fact it was busted, not the fact it existed, correct? Because your comment is a little ambiguous. :)

You think I might have meant that the existence of a secret paedophile ring on the dark internet was a good thing? I'm not quite sure what to make of that. I'd hope that anyone who had had any interaction with me at all would know that that was obviously NOT what I meant.

It was a joke about your choice of words, hence the little smiley guy at the end of the post. :)
