French celebrities vow to leave if Le Pen wins[W:50]

“She would need to change her policy about leaving the euro . . . or Macron would have to make some big mistakes,” he said. “Huge complacency by the electorate could also do it.”

I have no idea if her stepping down from day to day leadership of the party will help, but clearly Le Pen is thinking big. If she comes up with the right big idea by the end of the week she can do this.

As he makes an appeal for EU power and globalism...he wants the French to feel proud even as they vote to further weaken the Frenchness of France by voting for him. It is incoherent, this call for unity and "France is Great!" even as he argues that the French must give up still more of what made France special....for the good of somebodies not French. The French Elite in unison chanting "We have no choice" might work. It might not.

Macron recognizes what Le Pen doesn't; that France is too ingrained culturally and economically to make such foolish attempts as withdrawal from NATO and the EU anything other than inherently harmful.

I know pointing this out to you is pointless because for some reason Americans have such a hatred of the European Union as though it's some evil aspect of the New World Order, but France has nothing to gain from leaving the EU.

The Grand Partnership to start the EU Project with Germany has worked out great for Germany, but during that time France has rotted...dont under estimate the appeal of deciding that the EU was a mistake for France, and as well the appeal of a change of course.

Knock off the insults, I am almost certainly better educated than you are.

France's labor laws are what's screwing France over. Leaving the EU isn't going to fix that.

There is more to it than that, however this truth only short circuits Le Pens argument if the citizens believe that. The French Elite have over a long period of time not been able to fulfill their promises to make France better, dont assume that they are still found to be credible.

And Macron is a far better option to fix France's problems than the reactionary, Putin fangirl that is Le Pen.

All I am saying is that after what has already happened in the world these last years assuming is stupid.
