I am American and know nothing about French politics. My own politics are far left on economics and moderate on social issues. On the PoliticalCompass.org test, I scored -8 on economic and -4 on social. I'm basically Bernie Sanders except that I'm against abortion and gay marriage for reasons that I have thought through. You might say I'm a Roosevelt-Kennedy liberal. (So I really have no home on the American spectrum today.)
I've been hearing about the French election and wanted to learn more, so I took the test on VoteCompass and scored exactly in the middle on both axes, not close to any candidate despite there being 9 available. My results are below.
Why would this be? Is liberal in the US just middle of the road in France? Or is there something wrong with me?
