Did you forget about Gulf War in 1991? The reason Bin Laden attacked us is because we meddled with Iraq and Saudi Arabia. For an armchair general you are so completely clueless when it comes to history.

The U.S. has yet to wage anything even approaching a serious air campaign against Islamic jihadists. The attacks have been relatively light and sporadic.

The U.S. is not "fighting Islam." No U.S. government has ever considered all Muslims in the world hostile. If that were the case, Muslims within this country would long since have been interned.

You have it 100% wrong. Escalation plays into the Jihadi's hands. They want someone like Trump in there. Trump is a conspiracy theorist. The same kind of thinking that allows Jihadi's to think all Americans are evil allows Trump to think that all Muslims are evil. Trump already said he wanted to murder the families of terrorists. So, don't come back on me broad brushing Trump. Trump is a bigot, Muslims aren't real Americans to him here, and Muslim lives aren't worth as much to him over there.

It may be I know a bit more about the bombing of cities than most around here. I lived in London from 1940 to 1945. Both Germany and Britain were signitories to the Geneva Conventions but that did not stop the Luftwaffe from dropping bombs in my general direction.

You are inventing the idea that Trump thinks all Muslims are evil; he has never said so.

Btw very large numbers of Muslims have been handed Swedish nationality. I do not think this piece of politically motivated bureaucracy makes them instant 'real Swedes'. It is quite possible that some Muslims in the US are not 'real Americans', having obtained US citizenship purely as a convenience and feeling no loyalty to their supposed new country.

Of course I don't agree with any of your sulky drivel. But the fact you feel the need to take such a waspish, personal tone gives away that you don't have much confidence in your knowledge of this subject or your reasoning ability. And having read some of your posts, I know you have good reason not to.

My reasoning is sound, thank you very much. I have yet to see you state any facts to back up any of your assertions.

A man carrying knives near the Houses of Parliament has been wrestled to the ground by armed police and arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.
The man, thought to be 27, was detained as part of an intelligence-led operation on Parliament Street. Link.

Hopefully intelligence from the community helped point out this guy to security services. Well done the police nabbing him before any harm was done.
