The US had plenty of reasons to stay in Europe after WW2 and it's not just to save Europe from Russia.
For one it's hard to recoup war debt if your allies are either under soviet control or fighting a war against them. It's also hard to export American goods and sell them if your allies ain't buying...
Not to mention your global reach and power changed drastically at the end of WW2. Historically new empires don't walk away from that opportunity.

I don't think the intention is to get people to fear migrants, I think the intention is to recognise that so many already do. And to politically capitalise on that unity of spirit.

I have no choice but to fear Germany militarily. I do not feel that this is a fear born out of the actions of current day Germans. A bunch of people I hold in high regard and truthfully feel are one of the most benevolent societies on Earth at this time. A credit to humanity. A privilege to share a planet with. But it is a fear born out of history.
It is not intention that I must fear, it is only capability.

Then we kicked their asses.

Then we saved their asses from Russia.

Then we rebuilt their country.

Now we're bearing an unfair share of the cost of keeping their asses safe.

And from them we get a critical and high and mighty attitude.

Well i mean you didn't really save them from Russia. Half the country was under Russian control and the rest split up between the Allies. A lot of historians make the argument that it was western aggression and rhetoric that made the Russians dig in.
Today you enjoy the tactical advantage of having several major bases of operation in Germany many of which were used in the war on terror and the Iraq war, the latter of which the Germans opposed.

I´m quite sure there are several times more white Americans who think they are the master race than people in Germany - when I read how some Amercans talk about Arabs and Mexicans, that would be in no way possible here

pooh - okay, I dare to write it: I´m in no way militarist, I have been a normal soldier to defend in my duty times - but you really sound as if you defeated the Nazis on your own - sorry, thats a little bit ridicolous - and what the two british posters here say, who (historically) have really no reason to like Germany more than you.

Or they would of gone home/stayed put as they would not of been fearful of an atomically armed country handing out aid to Eastern Europe. There is no evidence that Russia wanted to control Western Europe.
