A shooting at a school in the southern French town of Grasse has injured several people, police sources say.

BBC Story being updated

Condolences to the families and those innocents injured.

A gunman has entered a military school in France leading to a number of injuries , it is being reported.

Gunshots have been heard at the Alexis de Tocqueville school in Grasse, France.

Unconfirmed reports say a man armed with several weapons shot the school's headmaster.

Daily Mirror

One person arrested but another suspect is on the run according to police sources.

It's a military school and the headmaster was shot - could be an extreme version of schoolboy revenge. (Often get fires at schools in summer after an unhappy student's final year.

"Teen with guns and grenades" sounds like an ex-pupil. Or maybe a surrent one! Just found the Guardan report.

" ..Grasse town hall described the incident as between two students and said it was not terror related.

Christian Estrosi, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region around Grasse, told France Info radio the headmaster had been injured but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Le Monde reported that the suspect who was arrested was a 17-year-old pupil at the high-school. He was arrested at the school armed with several weapons and grenades. The paper said it was not clear whether those weapons were all operational. ..."

the suspect was known for watching "strange videos" online, including battle footage and executions.

A profile is starting to appear - headmaster apparently continued reasoning with the boy despite having been shot. Numbers of victims range from 2 to 8 depending on your source.

Strange that the shooter managed to get his weaponry through bag search....

A moderately intelligent person can usually find ways to sneak things in despite bag searches in all but the most secure places.

The sad answer here is familiarity. The problem with France having been on such a high level of vigipirate for so long is that people get complacent. Immediately after Bataclan a bag search was a bag search. Now, more often than not it's a quick glance and off you go, if that. Especially in buildings where the regulars are going in and out every day saying "Bonjour" to the security guard and having the odd crack and a joke. I'm pretty sure I could smuggle what I wanted into or out of work, and the security guys who know my face would just say "salut" as usual and wave me on in.

When will the world wake up, this EU is part of the New World Order, illuminati. It is not a good thing to give all your liberty / freedom up to an entity (government) in exchange for a false sense of security. By having all the power in one world gov't that only makes Satan/Devils job easier when he shows us the Anti-Christ.

I think it a brave politician who would suggest, bringing down that threat level. But that's probably what's needed, to refresh the minds of security services.
