No, this isn't a Trump thread but it did invite Douglas Murray and Swedish MP to discuss statistics, rape, muslim integration and immigration in Sweden. Ex Times editor Andrew Neil grilled both equally and both sides made some good points.
Quick breakdown if you can't view from outside the UK.
Douglas Murray: stronger points in his argument.
Sweden does not need a large pool of unskilled labour.
That population is largely unemployed and not integrating. This is echoed in an article in the Telegraph which explores why social policies are not moving quickly enough to allow poorer immigrants to integrate.
Sweden has had to drop the number of immigrants taken in after the influx of 2015. Border restrictions and stopped offering permanent residence to Syrians.
Tried to make the link to Rotherham to demonstrate that authorities are trying to mask reality.
Douglas Murray: weaker points in his argument
Tried using Frankfurt sex attacks as an example of what could happen.
Ignorant (deliberately?) of how Swedes account rape statistics - pushed same interpretation as Farage and Trump etc
Ignorant on largely successful integration of Balkan refugees after 1990's war in Balkans.
Laila Naraghi MP: stronger points in her argument.
Swedish rape counts multiple attacks on individual which means higher rape statistics.
Balkan asylum seekers starting business and starting to do well.
Sweden still near the top of world statistics on places to live, places to bring your child up.
Compared murder in (Malmo), Sweden at 3 per 100,000 vs (Chicago) USA at 28 per 100,000
Poor employment statistics for 2015 migrants is a matter of time - expecting immediate integration unrealistic
Violence in Sweden continued decrease over last 20 years.
Unrest in immigrant zones due to social opportunity, not ethnic or religious background.
Laila Naraghi MP: weaker points in her argument.
