Years for Brits to fill low-skilled EU migrant jobs: David Davis

No it will take 2 years.

That would be going against Brexit. Brexit meant that no Poles or Romanians could enter the UK.

This is where you started

Where did it say no Poles or Romanians could enter after Brexit?

I said

That was the main reason for Brexit for a vast majority of Brits.. to control immigration and the main "hated group" there was Poles and Romanians (and Bulgarians). So after a Brexit, it is expected that the UK will ban as man Poles, Romanians and Bulgarians as possible, as they are part of the undesirable group of immigrants.

Now you move from a definite statement, and add "is expected"

A million miles? It is almost exactly what I said! gezz.

It's nothing like from where you started. Not almost. So stop with the misinformation and 'post truth' BS. If it was said, then produce the evidence; otherwise you're NO better than the rabid right! with exaggerating and spouting BS

I apologize you are correct.

However you know as well as I do, that Eastern Europeans will be the first to be highly limited if not outright banned once Brexit happens.

As the OP points out (David Davis - Brexit secretary) this will take years. I can only think 3 things will speed this up ~ either salaries rise or benefits drop so people have to take low paid jobs or automation takes over.

David Davis is out of touch and always has been. He is a British Empire guy and it shows. Fact is, once May triggers article 50, then the UK has 24 months to negotiate some sort of deal with the EU. Considering the amount of areas that have to be negotiated, then these 24 months are at best optimistic.... more likely impossible. To get the 24 months extended, then all EU members have to agree, and that aint going to happen.

1) Salaries wont rise under a conservative government.. if anything they will fall.

2) Benefits are being cut, and it will continue as it is Tory policy. This wont push people into low paying jobs, as the current system has made several generations of "lazy" Brits. It is not meant as an insult by any means (my own country has similar people), but it a fact of life that the "problem children" wont accept working in fields for next to nothing. The strain on the UK economy will force deep deep cuts in welfare and other spending across the UK. You already have a massive deficit in a supposedly booming economy... that is not a good sign.

3) Automation. That is an X factor. It wont happen overnight and certainly not during the next 2 years. Btw, this is an X factor for both sides.. the UK and EU.

I've already watched a programme about a factory on the south coast (AO?) where robots now sort, organise and post packages ordered. This will have to grow to fill these jobs.

Yes seen it and that has been happening for decades .. been a "creep". Take the postal system.. old days was manual sorting, by the 1980s the first machines started to sort, and now days even fine sorting is done by machines.
